Collected a two for one drink deal from caravan park, so thought we would stop.Hubby loved the museum, I left him to it and went to shop, got to taste the cheese. Hubby didn't because they only do tastings every hour on the half hour, that is 10-30, 11-30 etc. Ordered drinks and scones, scones came and we ate them, nice warmed in micro-wave, coffee came out some 20 minutes later..During that time we got to watch the staff bring out orders, bring them to tables, never taking back dirty dishes from other tables as they returned behind the counter.Apology made for late coffee. As we left lady bought drinks to another table, straightened chairs, put table number back on counter, and left all the dirty dishes on the table. 8 tables had cups, plates etc on them, and it was only 11-15am.

I had high hopes for a place called Cheese World. I would like to consider myself a cheese lover. However, this place is really just a cafe with a supermarket attached. There is a small selection of cheese available to buy, but I think a supermarket would have the same cheese! There are cheese tastings (hooray) and a small museum. I would like to see them really *milk* the whole cheese experience some more.

We visited upon reading their advert for free cheese tasting. However, leaving a tray of cheeses of the counter for a free-for-all is hardly what I would call a cheese tasting experience. The cheese was very nice though.

Unabashedly cheesy emporium: tastings, restaurant, snacks/candy/cheese & gift shop. Stop & stretch your legs, try some cheese cubes, maybe have a milkshake or something, buy some snacks for the road, and you'll be happy.

The museum is more a pile of junk than a museum worth visiting. The shop is nice to buy some local cheese. The name Cheese World makes you expect a lot more though.

Unfortunately, like most "cellar/factory door sales, things tend to be a bit pricey. Yes they have a great range of produce, meats cheeses, jams, wines, but you can buy the exact same product elsewhere cheaper. The museum is really interesting, great old gear with information cards showing its use and where it came from, well worth the visit.

If you're a cheese affecionado, don't bother going here. They really could have done more given the region's reputation and the number of artisan cheese makers in the area. They stock a small number of local cheeses other than their own Warnanbool brand but then stock a larger selection of cheeses that you can easily buy at your local supermarkets. Tastings are limited to their own brand. A better option is to spend the time to go to the actual local producers (eg at Timboon or Twelve Apostles) and try their cheeses, hear their stories and then buy direct from them

The shop is ok, but the staff really have very little info on cheese making, the history of the factory or anything like that. The cheese tasting was nice but not much variety. The museum was interesting but it is really a collection of farm stuff rather than giving you a history on cheese making.

Had a great visit to Cheese World. Amazing range of cheese at reasonable prices. The supermarket was also well stocked. We were offered a tasting even though it wasn't the advertised time. Yummy milkshakes at the cafe too. The museum has a lot of memorabilia with history of the area.

The museum is a great place to wander through and check out all the old style machinery and artefacts on display which give a great insight into all pioneers of the local dairy industry.

Had fun in the museum. Might have been nicer to have some info about cheese making and maturation. Loved the tasting and the generosity.

Really enjoyed my visit to Allansford Cheese World. They have a great range of cheeses, confectionary and jams. Out the back is a wonderful museum with interesting exhibits and stories of the local families involved in farming and cheese making. Well worth the visit :)

Cheese world??!! I don't know what I expected from the name of it , but it's basically a shop opposite the factory , with a little museum attached and a cafe. The museum is tiny, the size of a large living room, all about the history of cheese as you'de expect. The shop is where you taste cheese there's about 8 pieces in total. And the cafe is like a canteen . Literally takes 15 minutes max unless eating in the cafe. But atleast it's free. Don't go out of your way to visit , unless you are extremely bored.

We arrived at 12, next cheese tasting advertised to start at 12.30pm, at 12.30 the store employee said it will be a bit later. At 12.45 she declared cheese tasting will now be at 1.30! We left very annoyed as we had already been through museum and eaten at cafe and there is nothing else to do after those boxes are ticked! Well except cheese tasting which I suppose is why one might go to cheese world!

Just been for a quick visit we didn't stop at the cafe but the selection of cheese and other products was very good, hard not to pass up some good cheese. Tasters available too
