Hi Kimmo,Thanks for taking the time to write this review.We will discuss your comments during our next staff meeting to try to work out what tasting plate you are referring to not being available. It may have been our German Tasting Plate that was only available during our Oktoberfest weekend on 4th and 5th October. Also, the veal you made comment on was actually venison, so we will see how we can improve the descriptions on the menu.I am sorry there was a delay for the children's desserts. Thank you for your review.I'm sorry you didn't enjoy our property or our beers.Since buying Happy Valley Retreat 5 years ago, we have invested a lot of time and money into improving this wonderful property that was very tired and run down at that stage. Return visitors always commend us on the improvements that we continually make, but I must admit, it is hard to have beautiful gardens and lawn in winter when everything is frostbitten and dry. Maybe you should come back in Spring, Summer or Autumn to see our property with a bit more colour.With regard to the beers, we are very proud of our beers and get fantastic feedback from patrons everyday. Hello,Thank you for your review and for popping in for lunch.We try to offer a casual and affordable dining experience at lunch time with most meals priced around $15 - a price point that is achievable for most people. The meals are quite simple but are designed to go well with our range of beers, many of the meals actually contain our beer. I'm sorry that not all of our beers were to your taste. That's the reason we make 7 beers so that you can find at least one or two that you like. Everybody has different taste and it is hard to cater for everyone.Our new lunch and dinner menu will be released in September, so if you are in Stanthorpe please pop in.Thanks again.Dee Davenport

Thanks for your feedback.Yes, the porter has been extremely popular in the last month. As soon as the temperature starts to drop, the porter sales increase - so much so that we did run out over the Anzac weekend. Thankfully, the next brew of porter is ready to bottle and keg tomorrow.Thanks,Dee

I am sorry you didn't decide to stay. I think the child you are talking about is my daughter who is actually very good at helping in our family business and usually gets rave reviews for her service and initiative. She is not allowed to serve alcohol without a trained adult supervising her, and would have got one of us if you had decided to stay and place an order.I don't apologise for having our daughter greet you, however I am sorry that you decided not to stay. What a lovely and very detailed review.Thank you for taking the time to write such descriptive feedback, this will be very beneficial.I'm sorry that there were children running around. This is the reason we have a kids room - to keep them occupied with movies, playstations, toys and colouring in. It is very 'uncomfortable' to have to ask parents to keep their kids under control, but we will bring this issue up at our next staff meeting and work out proceedures to ensures this doesn't happen again.Once again, thank you.Regards,Dee and Geoff
