Unsure if we were to recieve table service, we asked the bewildered waitstaff, to which we recieved a vague and unhelpful response of 'we're just really busy'. Yes granted, there was a buzzing and busy vibe. However upon sitting down and deciding an order we were disgusted when we were informed that I could not order a coffee, we could only order wine. Which confused us because many of the tables around us had hot beverages. Additionally, we were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait on food, which would have been fine, if the man who had told us so, had not been so rude and blunt. "It goes both ways" he told us when we explained we drove around 2hours to get there "you should have made a booking". Funnily enough there was still plenty of tables and seating, it was obvious he could not have helped us any less. We were willing to spend $100+ on your food and wine and we were made to feel like an inconvienience. Terrible service.Disappointed.

The food and wine exceeded our expectation. Taste great, looks great. We didn't mind the waiting time because we could sip the wine, enjoy the view and chat amongst ourselves. The price may seem higher for some but it is definitely reasonable for the standard they delivered. The lamb was so tender, the coq au vin was very flavoursome. Must try the dessert - soufflé, or lavender ice cream.Service is ok but we don't mind because the food and wine was just outstanding. Definitely going back soon.

We went to taste some wine, paid $3 for very small sips of 4 wines. The man who served us was very unfriendly (quite rude actually) and not very helpful at all. I am not a red drinker so only got to try two wines for my $3 and when my husband asked to try on of the red wines again, he was told 'NO', very poor indeed. We did buy two wines between the 6 of us but would not go back again. The view was lovely but the grounds need a bit of TLC.

The view is amazing, and the building is nice. The food was average to horrible. They obviously cook everything in the same oven in which they cook the LAMB. Therefore, everything you order smells/tastes like LAMB. I ordered a freshly baked passionfruit souffle for desert, and even that STANK of LAMB, which ruined it entirely. It wasn't a fresh lamb smell. I think the lamb was old/close to rotten. By the end of our meal, quite a few guests had arrived and must have ordered lamb, because the entire building was smelling like rotten LAMB. The restaurant should knock LAMB off the menu. Apart from the LAMB smell, the food was just average, with a plain salt taste, nothing special. There are only 2 white wines, and 2 red wines at this winery. Only 1 of the whites and 1 of the reds are decent. The others are just a token addition (sweet rose and watery white). This would be a nice place to visit if they fixed the LAMB problem.

What a great place! Drove up from Brisbane with the family for a lunch and jazz afternoon. The venue is great: the building is perfect for the site and the view is amazing. The food was fantastic: you must try the lavender ice cream desert. I don't drink alcohol but the drinkers among the group thought the wine on offer was excellent. All in all I found this place to be an excellent venue and well worth the drive from Brisbane. Top marks!!!

We enjoyed another superb lunch at Kooroomba, this week. The chef and waitress were pretty much run off their feet, but the meal was superb and as always, the view from the restaurant is hard to beat.

Wow what a gorgeous spot this winery is in - amazing mountain views and fields of lavender. But the grumpy owner is a bit off putting who told us we had interrupted his lunch and ran after us as we walked around the lavender fields to tell us not to stomp on the lavender - something we would not do.Lunch is nice, very expensive and lavish. Probably not my cup of tea and probably won't visit again. Pub lunch more my thing.

This is a lovely place to visit and the wine was nice. However the lunch was expensive for what it was, our children were still hungry after their meal and we waited over an hour for it. Food and service average.

My family and I went there for lunch. We waited an hour for our entre, over 2hrs for our mains and over half an hour for our dessert. In that time no waiter came to check on us and ask if we wanted any drinks or apologise for the lack of service. I do not recommend this to anyone unless you want to wait a lifetime for your food. Scenery and food was good. But waiting that long for it isn't worth it.

Just returned from a tiring Sydney trip a day before getting invited to this vineyard for lunch by my sister and brother in law. Long-distanced drive from Brisbane on top of a weary body really made me wonder whether this trip is making any sense at all. Can't help feeling skeptical about what is coming next?? walking into the cellar door, the contemporary interior design with simplicity and quality was a good start. entering the restaurant and being greeted with a picturesque view of landscape magically soothed my weariness. My baby girl was already running and playing in the vineyard and thrilled by the surprising encounter with beautiful wild wallabies. It was decided that each of us ordered one dish and shared the food together. Because of the no. of people, we ordered almost every main dish on the menu. The dishes were served in a reasonable speed. The presentation of them were very inviting and the taste was even better. To be precise, " sensational " was the exact word to describe the impact those food had brought me. Come on !!! Who would have expected such a fine taste from a small restaurant located in the middle of nowhere ??? The tasting plate for two (the entree) was really creative and tasty . The lamb shank was well flavored and braised. One literally took no effort to get the meet off the bone. The short rib was so........... tender and together with the Hollandaise sauce, it really brings out the voice of god. all other dishes equally bought delightful surprise to our tongues. just when my tongue was getting numb by all these heavenly flavors, The hot, smoothy and right out of oven raspberry soufflé got me totally surrendered. Took a spoon of the well-elevated fluffy soufflé into my mouth and it instantly melt. followed by a well-blended taste of cream and berries dancing on my tongue again. It was the perfect ending of the meal .........At the end , I greeted the chef and paid my respect to him by saying that " If Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant in Sydney was awarded 3 stars by Michelin guide, I would give you 5 stars personally! "

The food and wine is superb (for what you pay and the age you wait for it, it would want to be amazing!) and the surroundings are beautiful .. Just a shame the wait staff seem to have no idea what’s going on. One of our meals was forgotten and then after our mains, WE were forgotten completely. We ceased to exist and I’m certain we could have walked out without paying unnoticed. True – we were probably not as well dressed or in the same age bracket as their other patrons, but the staff had no interest in serving us. Was really looking forward to desserts and more wine too. But despite this, upon leaving, we still sampled a few wines and ended up buying a few bottles from the proprietor. He seemed friendly and chatty enough. Interesting bloke actually. Would really like to see this place do well, but they really need to step up their game if they want to survive as a restaurant/winery in the region..

Not a place we will EVER visit again,it was a birthday gift for me from our daughter, food took forever to serve, prices over the top for what you get, desert (soufle) was hopeless with next to no filling and we asked for the Chef? and all he said was to drop the ice cream into the bowl?? in our travels around France we have never seen that done, the owner was no help and sided with Chef so what chance have you got??

Exceptionally posh tasting rooms do not a decent winery make! The chap behind the counter was very miserable and took delight in ribbing us about England's appauling showing in the cricket. I hate cricket and didn't care a fig! But he just banged on relentlessly. The wine is no better than average, maybe they should have spent some of the cash they spent on the building on the brewing process? If you want the true Australian wine story, go and see Dave at Bunjurgen down the road.Toilets were very good though.

In my opinion was a great outing and glad I went there. Man greeted us at the wine tasting area, not overly bubbly (which I had read prev) but not rude. He explained wine tasting here, lavender shop over there, restaurant behind him. We checked out the lavender outside and spectacular view, then checked out shop and selected 6 small lavender crops to take home. (Seems this man has a double as he appeared in the shop behind the counter).Back into tasting area and waited a bit for a waitress to pour some tasters. Extremely drinkable Alba and Chardonnay are my selections (although im not a big fan of Chardonnay, this was just perfect tasting). Tried the shiraz/cab/merlot blend and the port (by that time the man appeared again, not changing glasses from white to red, which we found odd) but still he was straight face to the point and not unpleasant. We ordered some wine( Alba wine and Chardonnay) to take home, although there was absolutely no push to sell either the lavender or the wine. Next lunch, no reservations but there were plenty of tables left with good view unbooked. (if you come any later than 12.30 then I suggest book, it got really busy). Two staff were new in training so the service was a little vague but friendly, again no push for wine or not even suggestions of top ups during meal. (had the chardonnay) Don't expect any beer, there is none. The food is in my opinion excellent, in presentation and taste, entrees shared Asian duck and noodles roll, lamb koftas, parmesan & chive custard and zucchini & ricotta rolls, we both picked the same steak burger on special menu (cooked to tender perfection) and shared the roasted fig tart with goats cream gelato, macerated strawberries ( I honesly thought I was eating delicious vanilla icecream and im not a fan of desserts this was divine) The view was spectacular with little skippy providing entertainment outside. For something different I recommend it, its not full on lots to do and see, service could do with a little pizzazz and marketing skills (thought some sprigs of lavender on tables would be good) but I love lavender so found it a great day out with a splash of Australian country, wine, good food & skippy. (lunch approx. $100 incl. glass of wine, good serving) After that we went to Maroon dam to extend the day experience. Nothing much else out there that really interested me so not sure if I would go back but the food was great and I would buy those 2 wines again if I found them in Brisbane. Definitely worth a day visit if your after a good lunch and a full morning and afternoon out considering the drive. (even for the whole family, kids menu) about 70mins west of Brisbane Boonah way. (SORRY FOR THE LONG REVIEW :)) This place is not for everyone as not too much to do and see but I liked it. Going to try grow the French lavender I purchased from Lavender shop :) and will drink the great tasting wine slowly :) 8/10

We don't travel out from Brisbane as often as we should to Kooroomba Vineyards. However we do like to bring Qld visitors there for lunch as we can always be assured of an excellent meal and wine. The group we brought today ordered just about everything on the menu and all commented on the amazing food. The drive from Brisbane was just long enough and all in all we had a great day.
