We went to Dusty Hill for lunch on a very hot day. The bar/dining area is shaded by a wide verandah so was quite cool. I noticed some people who initially sat outside asked to move inside so it must have been quite hot out there. We had made a booking and the table we were given was right next to the pool table where people were playing which wasn't the best if you are trying to have a conversation. Most of the tables for 2 seemed to be in this area. They have a good menu, I chose the Barkers Creek pork cutlet and it was beautiful. I don't often eat a whole meal but I finished off every scrap only the bone remained, the only think I didn't do was lick the plate although it was tempting. Luckily our local butcher now stocks Barkers Creek pork. The restaurant was about half full but the service was a little slow, just enough to notice, however the staff were very friendly. A couple who arrived after us were served first. I know sometimes this is unavoidable because of what it ordered, but it is always a little annoying. We did have a wine tasting after lunch which was very pleasant and went home with a couple of bottles. Nice relaxing location and well worth the drive.

Treated my employees to a weekend away in the South Burnett. Fabulous afternoon and evening at Prendergast's Irish Tavern on Dusty Hill Estate (Vineyard). Great food and drink, fantastic music (thanks Pop!). Might make it annually, as opposed to bi-annually. Only a 2 hour drive from the Sunshine Coast.
