We always like to visit the huge, beautiful Whale outside the Discovery Sphere, so whilst here we decided to check out the "Traversing Antarctica The Australian Experience" in the Regional Gallery, which is attached to the Sphere. It was all free, and the kids really enjoyed doing all the interactive things that were available. The ladies on the front desk were very helpful, especially to the kids, telling them what they could do whilst in the Gallery, etc, and just having a joke around with them and it was lovely to hear the gentleman playing the piano in the background.Definitely worth a visit.

Hervey Bay has a new art gallery which is housed in the Fraser Coast Cultural Centre. Conveniently located in the Piaba the art gallery has two exhibition halls which house temporary art exhibitions, each collection changes every 6-8 weeks. The weekend of our visit there were two photographic collections on view. The staff were very helpful giving us a brief explanation of the collections. There is a small gift store in the main atrium, as well as a beautiful grand piano.
