Thank you for your comments and I'm glad you liked the inclusion of the Audio Guide as part of the entry fee - and the bird calls. They are extremely popular and just like having an expert tour guide at your fingertips. The commentary certainly provides lots of interesting information but the good thing about the audios is that they are completely flexible; you can listen to as much or as little as you like. And of course our complimentary 48 page Interpretive Guide Book and Interpretive Display Centre cover even more points of interest. The outdoor silhouettes of the giant mega fauna are part of the climate change story. We deliberately selected untreated steel as the brown/grey colouring is non intrusive and blends into the natural environment. As someone who is an experienced rainforest visitor, you would know that the thing that is so special about the unspoilt section of the rainforest north of the Daintree River, is that it is the oldest intact tropical lowland rainforest in the world - and an iconic World Heritage destination. If you introduce yourself to staff when next you visit, they will be sure to provide additional points of interest and will undoubtedly give you a warm welcome.

I'm so glad you were able to make time to visit the the gateway to the Daintree Rainforest. The Discovery Centre is 2 hours north of Cairns, but the drive up the Coral Coast is truly spectacular and the Ferry crossing an experience in itself.Fantastic that you got to see a cassowary in the wild! There have been numerous sightings this week, but while the Centre is part of a natural cassowary corridor, it's not a zoo - we don't fence of feed the wildlife - the come and go as they please. In response to customer feedback we are currently trialling the inclusion of audio guides as part of the entry fee: AUD$32 per adult includes access to all facilities and walks, plus a personal audio guide (available in 8 languages) a 48 page interpretive guide book (RRP AUD$9.95) and 7 day free re-entry.Great news! This is actually a $1 saving per adult and $3 per child (on the previous pricing structure). The new family rate of AUD$78 represents a saving of $10 per family. The Concession price (seniors and students) is AUD$28.50. There's always somthing new happening at the Centre and we look forward to welcoming you when you visit again.

Sorry, I can't get this 'park'. Why would you pay AUD 32 for something not real when you get the real thing for free? Just pass the Daintree Discovery Center and drive on for another 500 meters. You'll reach a car park from where two tracks are going into the forest, one 700 meters, the other 2.7 kilometers.

Our tour Group visited the Daintree Discovery Center and it was a really good tour. the staff are very knowledgable and really want us as visitors, to realise the history, inportance and the part the forest plays in the ecological system. Mankind has affected the planet and nowhere more than the rainforests. We were shown the different plants, trees and animals in the ecosystem. The different levels from the ground to the canopy and how each interacted. Easy access along the boardwalks so you don't affect the jungle and there is a tower to climb and see the different levels. There is a souviner shop and coffee/tea snacks service. Tea was so good I bought a packet to take home and savour the memories. Highlight was when we were leaving in the mini coach there was a cassowary with his chicks walking and pecking in the undergrowth just of the side of the road, a really rare occurence which we're glad to see. Definitely worth the time to stop when you drive up to Cape Tribulation.

This visit was well worth doing for us. We felt it was a little expensive for what it was, but the guide system was good, and the walks and signposts were very good. Worth going out of your way to visit this.

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to leave such great feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your time at the Centre. What a great idea about the children's book! Although we do provide visitors with a comprehensive colour guide book to take away with them, it is definitely worth considering publishing a child friendly version to help them appreciate and understand all of the marvellous wonders that the Daintree has to offer. A Great gift idea. Thanks for spending some time with us and we do hope to see you over this way again soon!

Hi and thanks for taking the time to leave such nice comments! We are delighted to hear you thought the infrastructure was great and the guide book and audio guides were excellent! Yes, there a plenty of different walking trails throughout the Daintree that people can access. We actively promote people using their newly acquired information from a trip the Centre, to go exploring other parts of Cape Tribulation. Our goal is to enrich the experience of people visiting the Daintree by providing them with useful, exciting and entertaining information that they can take away with them (including their colour guide book!). If visitors are looking for a unique perspective of the rainforest on their once in a lifetime trip to the Daintree, The Daintree Discovery Centre is the only place where you can experience the Daintree from high above the tops of the trees all the way to the forest floor! Thanks for spending some time with us and we look forward to having you up this way again soon!
