Coming originally from England, I was so surprised to see a castle in Australia that I just had to stop by and have a look inside. The price was very good for the experience you get and I was pleasantly surprised by the likeness this place has to castles at home (albeit of course slightly newer and in tact!). Complete with a great hall, dungeon, and multiple towers (giving an amazing view of the surrounding area and coastline) there is also lots of information so you can learn about the Middle Ages, and also a treasure hunt for the kids which I think is a great way to keep them entertained! The doll museum at the end is interesting to see and is a nice touch to finish the tour. I finished my tour with a coffee and nachos in the castle cafe - all very well priced and tasty, and served by the extremely helpful and friendly staff. All in all I'm glad I experienced this Australian castle and would definitely recommend a visit!

I'm currently traveling around oz and heard about a castle on the sunshine coast. being from Germany i wanted to see by myself whether it's any good and i must admit it took me by surprise how great this place is! the staff is super friendly and even wearing authentic medieval clothes! the castle is a great place to visit independent of age, whether you go there with your kids that can dress up and go on a treasure hunt or as an adult learning about medieval times due to the provided information. even the dolls do make sense when taking the history of the castle into consideration. and my day ended by enjoying the coffee& cake deal. i must admit i had the most beautiful latte since i came here to oz! i can only recommend going there especially when taking the price into consideration. compared to most other tourist attractions on the sunny coast the castle is rather cheap.

Took my family, cost a bit to get in. Not alot to see. Everything seemed old and run down. It was empty and my kids were less than impressed and my kids are usually easily pleased.Wouldn't go again, waste of time and money.

My husband, daughter and I travelled from Brisbane to visit the castle. The price was so so, we thought we wouldn't mind paying that price for a nice family day out. The castle is empty with very old displays, half with the lights and interactive shows not working. There was no atmosphere, no music to keep children engaged and the staff seemed unhappy. Mainly because we think (it was the owner) walking around the back of the castle (near the moat) moaning at some workers there. The moat wasn't filled with water and the treasure trail is poor and very confusing for a child. There is a spiral staircase leading to the top of the castle to see the view. The view I admit was lovely but the spiral staircase is very dangerous and wobbly. My daughter tripped many times and panicked when the stairs wobbled. The toilets were okay but smelt of urine. When we first drove into the castle (first time) we accidentally drove too far and went round the back of the castle, to then realise and turn around. We again think it was the owner who just looked discusted and just blankly stared at us until we turned around. Overall very disappointed about all of that day.
