Was supporting my daughter who was part of a Charity Day jump of 9 people (incl. some kids with Diabetes who were jumping). My daughter had come down from Bathurst. (3 1/2 hrs away). She was just getting kitted up when the plane just flew off into the sunset. We were told the plane had been called to an emergency. Turns out the emergency was that someone in Wollongong wanted a part flown down for another plane!!! Can you BELIEVE IT?! Cancelled for the day.How can a reputed skydiving company have no back up plan ?? It would be fair to assume that plane problems happen so to have no protocol as back up beggars belief. We were left with a bunch of staff members who seemed to be in the dark as much as us. They had to bumble along with obviously limited information and deal with 30 odd devastated jumpers and family/friends.It beggars belief that a supposedly reputable company would have NO contingency plan AT ALL!! Presumably skydiving companies have problems with planes all the time so the idea that there was no back-up plan is disgraceful. There was no immediate offer of any form of complimentary compensation which might have done a little to calm the madding crowd.!! Just "line up and we'll issue you with your vouchers for a later date..". The reputational damage will be will be VERY widespread because every one of the jumpers will now being having to explain to the several hundred people who'd donated money why the jump didn't go ahead and I'd have to say rightly so. I am generally loathe to damn Aussie business but it's very hard for me to see anything that was done right!!

Picked up from central on time, great bus driver who kept everyone pumped up. I was on my own but so were all of the others & it turned out to have a great atmosphere through the whole day. I had a tandem skydive, all of the staff were so laid back and organised that there was no time to be nervous. Lots of fun, great experience & definitely worth the money.

I had a tandem skydive. We were lucky with the weather (and we were notified to be prepared if it has to be cancelled)I thought I'd be nervous and all, but after hearing that my instructor has done thousands of jumps literally and the company doesn't have any cases of hard injury/death, honestly, i was pretty calm all the way, until just before they opened the door for a jump - i was the first oneIt was an AMAZING once in a lifetime experience that we'll remember forever! Actually, after such a pleasant experience, i don't think it's the last jump at all...We purchased the video and photo pack. Yes, it's quite pricey, but i didn't regret at all! There were two of us and the videos were done with different music and all, so regardless of the fact that it's a template, it is done very well! Thanks for the amazing experience!!!

Visited yesterday with some friends for our first skydive. The driver picked us up at the time that was said, did a good job to calm us all down. The jump was great, everyone working was good at their jobs. We were very lucky with the weather and I will definitely do it again! Thank you for a great experience :)

Told we would be picked up at 5:40 but driver never showed up!! Had to wait until 7 for call line to open... Another 1hr wait before being told no dive today due to operational issues!! Thanks for wasting our day!! Friends go back home overseas tomorrow!! Have heard some stories similar to mine a few times, really should have listened!! Terrible experience!!!

We bought a groupon for the helicopter skydive so we had paid in full beforehand. The first time we booked a day in, they sent us a message saying they had cancelled the jump. The second time we booked in they delayed our jump twice throughout the day and then cancelled it all together. Before booking the third time I called, as well as emailed them, several times to confirm that if we had the 8am spot we had the first preference of jumps for that day. I was told repeatedly that if we booked the 8am spot, if it was only ok to jump at 12pm because of conditions we had FIRST PREFERENCE even over the 12pm booking. I said that as we are from Sydney we had paid for accom twice now and I wanted to confirm AGAIN that we had first preference if we booked the 8am spot. Again, I was assured this to be true.We booked for the third time for this morning and was sent a text at 6am saying they were "on a weather hold due to extreme fog. Please wait for sms update at 8am or call". (We have a friend who lives in Somersby a couple of hundred metres from the drop zone who we called and they said that there was no fog).At 8am - "we are still on hold due to extreme turbulence at altitude. Next update at 10am." - I thought it was fog, not turbulence? Interesting. We decided to go down to the airport to see what was going on and we got there at around 9am.What did we see but people suited up and getting prepped to do the dive, what a joke! I walked up to the desk and said that I wanted to book a dive for today and was told that they were "fully booked".After revealing that I had a booking that they had cancelled, we were given three different excuses;1 - "Extreme" fog - which was never there2 - Turbulence at altitude - totally possible3 - All the helicopter time was full so there would be no more people jumping - so our promised first preference that I went over so many times just didn't exist?I spoke to the muppet behind the desk, then some vague looking blonde before actually speaking to the operations manager on the phone, who was quite possibly the most condescending "I gave up on real life to run away and become a skydive instructor, too cool for school and you are way below me" woman I have ever dealt with. She repeated that I didn't understand how skydiving worked (which is funny in itself as I am a youth adventure travel agent who deals with skydiving and skydive companies every day for a living).I said I don't think her company understood what FIRST PREFERENCE meant. They tried to say they were doing us a favour and had "our best interests in mind by not letting us wait around for hours". Funny, I thought our best interests were to have the first preference to actually do the jump that we'd already paid for in full, paid for accom 3 times now, only to be bumped off as soon as new money came along. When I asked again why we were lied to about having the first preference, the manager went on that the people who were already suited up were already on the way up here on their bus when they decided to can us. When I said that we had driven up the night before and had told them this before I was answered with a sarcastic, "Were you at the drop zone last night?" She also asked me if we were at the drop zone that morning at 8am. As we had the text saying it wasn't on I said that we weren't. She acted as if it was our own fault as we were not there at 8am even though we were told not to be? I said I wanted a resolution and she announced that there wasn't one. I said that as a resolution the company could put us in the suits and give us the first preference we were promised was a resolution. She thought this was madness and said again that I didn't understand skydiving. I said that she didn't understand plain english as "first preference" is pretty clear to me.They ended up cancelling the whole day - apparently.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS GROUP OF LYING, ARROGANT, INCOMPETENT PEOPLE. The other reviews are spot on, I have never seen a company with 100% bad reviews before and it is for very good reason. By booking with this company you are just guaranteeing your own frustration and being spoken down to like a subhuman. If you want to go diving out of Sydney use http://www.sydneyskydivers.com.au/. It is a company I have jumped with personally, I have dealt with for years through my work, and have never had a client come back to me disappointed.

We also purchased vouchers through Groupon, who in the past have been pretty good. The first time we tried to organize this was well within the validity period of the deal (December 2012). A group of 9 of us made the trek up from Sydney, & down from Newcastle to attempt our dive. We paid for accommodation for the night & also drove up in our vehicles, wasting money on fuel each time. On the morning of our 'first dive' we received a text stating that the weather conditions were not right. Looking up at the sky, it was a beautiful & clear December day, but as I have never skydived before & understand that every precaution must be taken, we bought their excuse & re-booked the next available date for all 9 of us, which was Australia Day.On Australia Day weekend, we all hopped in our cars & made the trek up again - paying for fuel & accommodation again, only to be text again saying that it is too windy to jump. There was one lone cloud in the sky & it was chugging along slowly, but again - what do I know about skydiving? I don't know the altitude of that cloud, so we cancelled & re-booked again. (Do you see where I'm going here??)Our next booking was more calculated, We spoke to the woman when we made the reservation & explained to her about our past experiences. We asked that we be the first booking of the day, which gives us the option to be first preference in the event that something goes wrong in the morning, we are trained, suited up & ready to go if there is an opportunity to dive later on in the day. Last night we made the trek up again, this time a group of only 4 as we could not all make this trip. Third time lucky. We wake at 7am to (you guessed it) a text, explaining that there was heavy fog. Poor old operations managers at the skydiving shack up the street don't know that our friends mother lives a few blocks away & let us know that there is NO FOG at all, which we already knew from looking out the window. CRACKING DAY. We get another text at 8am telling us that there is 'bad turbulence at high altitudes'& that the next call will be at 10am. We got in our cars & drove out there to find that there is a group of 8, suited up in harnesses & having a lesson / briefing before they take off to do their dives. We walk up to the desk to ask what's going on & we're told that there is not enough hours in the helicopter. We ask why there are other people (apparently paying full price) who have been put into our slot & then they started to back-pedal. They say that they are not 100% sure that the group will go up due to turbulence. We ask why they are ready to go & why we do not any longer take first preference? We are told that the group were already on their way up in a bus from Sydney.. Ohhhhhhh... WE DROVE UP ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS! We were put onto a call with the 'óperations manager' who was completely rude & unhelpful. At no time did they offer to get us ready & send us up in the helicopter first, which would have resolved the whole problem. Obviously we would not have been completely happy, knowing that now we have been absolutely screwed 3 times, but we would have at least got to finally do the dive & got us off these monkey's backs.. Once they realized that we were not going to leave, they cancelled the other group too. This has got to be the most ridiculous company operating on the Central Coast. My advice is to pay full price & go diving with another company. You would have to be completely mad to trust them. We will be seeking refunds. As we originally made our first booking within the validity period, we will be able to get our refunds. I suggest that anyone else experiencing the same problems does the same.

We apologise about the wait time and cancellations you had to go through, however we cannot be responsible if the cloud builds up and it is unsafe to jump through. These are some of the risks you need to consider when you choose to do a sport like skydiving. We again cannot be responsible if you book through a company that does not do refunds, each company has their own policies. We have a 100% refund policy if there is a cancellation due to weather. Our staff at Skydive Sydney City are a great team and work out of Gosford Airport and we have a passion for taking people to experience skydiving out of our many Helicopters we have on site.We do however appreciate your constuctive feedback
