badgerys lookout

wow! Took the turnoff from The Highland Way at Tallong to this lookout. Fully tarred road all the way. What a view, almost 500m down to the Shoalhaven River and it's gorge - really wondering why this isn't more well known. Absolutely nobody else around, how peaceful. Easy for everyone to take in the view - 2 lookouts. One lookout accessible to prams, wheelchairs, etc and one with steps. There are BBQs, picnic tables and toilets but the whole area is not well maintained, so wouldn't be that keen to use them. For the very fit there is a walk but it is shown as very steep.

We have been to this lookout recently and when we had visitors over the weekend we returned. The views are amazing, you look down into Shoalhaven Gorge. You can see plenty from the actual car park so if you are unsteady walking on uneven ground you can still enjoy the full vista. There is however two lookouts you can walk down to (a couple of minutes walk) one has steps. For the adventurous there is a four hour walk but it does say you have to be fit. On the road leading to the lookout there is a deer farm and if you are lucky enough you can view them through the fence and take photos. We did. Then of course do not forget to grab a lunch or refreshments from the General Store in Tallong, lovely people good food.
