It might not be a natural forest but the trees are majestic and the way they have been planted has created this fairytale looking pathway. If you are into photography you'll love this place. The walk itself is short, no stairs, no inclines but uneven surface. When driving to here slow down as it is not that well signed so you could easily blink and miss it. The drive to the car park is on unsealed logging roads which does look a little dodgey but it is very short, maybe 150 or 200 metres in. At the start of the path there is an info board that gives you some insight into the history of the Sugar Pine forest.

Have been here a number of times and I strongly suggest that visitors go at least once during the winter (preferably after a snow fall).Walking through the small forest is marvellous, take a chance to stop in the middle of the walk and just listen to the wind through the trees...it is a sound like no other.If you get the opportunity to visit after a snow fall you would be mad not to as there are so many picture postcard opportunities to take advantage of.The turn off from the main road comes up quickly is you are not aware so keep an eye out for the sign, once you have turned off, the walk is about 50-100mts up the road. It is a short walk but very majestic.

As a professional pine tree planter it was super nice to see what those little bastards looks like when they are grown up. This small plantation is planted 1928.

Preserved trees within a logging area but American sugar pines planted years ago for amazing effect. It is a slight uphill walk with a bed of soft pine needles underfoot. Car park (unsealed) located at the bottom of the walk. Look out for signposts to the walk from the main road near Laurel Hill.

It was a miserable day for a walk but was definitely worth the drive. It is absolutely stunning to walk through these pine trees! Highly recommend coming here!

This is one of the best kept secrets in all of NSW, hidden on the edge of the Snowy Mountains. Standing under the canopy of these huge sugar pines is a pure delight, the long trunks sway with the wind in a hypnotic dance of eerie calmness, something so unfamiliar to our land. It is almost more fantasy than reality from the pages of Middle Earth. Being far from Sydney & Melbourne, this affords the benefit of avoiding huge crowds & remains isolated with the whole world far off somewhere else on another page. The Sugar Pines weep a sweet honey in resin-beads if the wood is pierced, hence their name & are known to grow up to the wise old age of 800 years & is a resident pinewood in Yosemite National Park in the USA. These pines are known as being the largest of all pine trees.Planted in 1928 & saved from the axeman’s steel due to their pure magic, this small wonderland measures 2.4 hectares, the immediate Sugar pines lie within 85,000 hectares of pine plantation forests. The walk is only 500 metres in length, is surrounded by wild berries & is completely free to visit. Sugar Pine Walk can be found at the village of Laurel Hill on Kopsons Road, off Batlow Rd in the Bargo State Forest, 2.5 hours from Canberra & about 450kms from Sydney & Melbourne in northern Kosciuszko National Park.

Lovely, easy walk, the trees are awesome. Kids loved running around the pines and taking photos of the trees

Nice walk, would be beautiful in the winter with the snow. It was short enough to be a quick stop and look around and enjoy then go on to other places.

This is only a small area of Sugar Pines, and it is outstanding. We happened to be in the middle of the pines with the most amazing butterfly dance around us. Don't miss this wonderful experience

Short walk but very beautiful. Trees amazingly tall and swayed alarmingly with the breeze. Was snowy and cold and very invigorating.
