This is a great little private zoo with lots of different animals. The koalas were very close and even came up for a little head scratching. It took us about an hour to walk around the different areas and take lots of great pictures of the animals. It can get hot walking around, but it's definitely worth a visit. Probably the best spent money while in Australia!

This is a local institution run by a caring old lady called Nancy there are many animals to see along with reptiles and native birds, it's out in the open and can get hot in the middle of summer but well worth a visit if you have small children and are travelling through Gunnedah.

This place is wonderful! I went with my mum who is a huge animal lover and we had a ball. As it was quiet we were able to spend as long as we wanted in the Koala enclosure and get up close and personal. There's so much to see and an absolute bargain, not to mention the staff and volunteers are lovely and happy to have a chat and assist your needs.

You walk into the country wildlife park with some trepidation - how are the animals/birds going to housed and what signs of stress will there be - with great relief I can say this is a well presented if somewhat homely park where the welfare of the animals is so very clearly the main focus. fab. selection of birds esp.you'll be pleasantly surprised. parrots from not only Australia but all over the world. Usual Australian suspects in the form of the mamals/marsupials and dingos. Most enclosures have local sponsors a good sign and the entry fee is cheap as chips with no real hard sell on the souvenirs. You'll need your hat and sun block and take some water and the kids and she'll be right and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Loved the fact that the owners had named all the animals and amazingly these animals responded when their name was called. Loved it loved it

For a $5 entrance fee we got to experience this delightful little park. We got to pet the koalas which we had never experienced before. You can get up close and personal to the roos and emus as well. You can spend extra time there with a picnic, but we were in and out in about an hour and a half. Well worth a visit.

Was blown away that it was only $5 entry. The koala experience was once in a lifetime. The park is large and the animals seem content in their surroundings. Well worth visiting if you are in Gunnedah. A little out of town and the only sign was on the rural museum's front sign 5km away.

Have a lovely day with the family. Took our own picnic lunch and enjoyed the scenery. Kids loved all the animals. I enjoyed seeing the deers and ostriches. Great family day

A lovely privately owned Zoo with a great variety of Australian animals and birds. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and talked freely about the animals and birds in their care. There is plenty of opportunity for very close and personal viewing of the birds and animals. My Akubra even has a small piece missing from the brim where I leaned a tad too close to the Cockatoo's cage.We will certainly be going back next time we visit Gunnedah
