Fantastic Country views, and a spectacular mountain range, the sign posting wasnt all that clear so the GPS work to our favour

A steep climb but rewarded by beautiful views. A bit nervous going through field of cows but we're English and should be used to it! Path not brilliantly marked but is pretty obvious. Can imagine it gets quite scary as it goes further along the ridge.

The Bucketts Mountains around Gloucester, New South Wales provide for some rugged scenery for the township of Gloucester. We drove through on our way north along the Thunderbolts Way and appreciated the beautiful mountains as we went past.

The views are so great it is hard to have a favourite spot to view these incredible ranges from...but no matter where you are the views are incredible

Some of the most lovely farmland around with super views across the mountains. So silly that CSG frackers are allowed here. A great area being ruined by short term thinking. Be at the Anti-gas blockade if you want a healthy Australia. You'll meet the best of the locals too.

The countryside was very pleasant with the mountains in the background. The only downside is that they are mining for cold seam gas and the locals dont like the idea. So who knows what the future holds for this area.

Great views of this local feature all around Gloucester. Did not do the walk as it was too steep for me.

Views to be soaked in. It was an amazing sight to see the cows quietly grazing in the fading light with the mountains as a backdrop.

Had never been to this part of the state and just loved the beauty of it. Had been to the rugged parts of Barrington Tops and loved the contrast of the hills. plains, river and even a special town like Gloucester. Was interested in Janet's comment below as we had been further north around Tamworth and the drought has had even more impact further north.

During our visit we drove the scenic drive through the Bucketts area. It is a beautiful part of the country weaving through the plains and hillside and crossing over the river in a few spots. The picnic areas near the river were great. At this time though the drought is affecting the land and I feel for those who are doing it tough with so little water.
