My sons love this shop, and one of them usually hates shopping with a passion. For parents with a child who can't be coerced into buying clothes at all, this shop is well worth the trip to Gerringong if you are in the region, especially if they are into surfing or bodyboarding. We buy most of our surfing gear here, and NN has a generous loyalty programme, which is always a nice touch, especially if you are buying for a few kids simultaneously.

My husband recently purchased a paddle board, the staff were friendly, couldn't do enough for him until the board started to gets cracks in the side rails. He'd only ridden the board 7 times in flat surf so it was more than evident that the board was faulty. Rang NN and arranged for the board to be dropped off for inspection by the owner and the rep. from NSP. They said that the board had obviously come off the car or fallen from a great height but out of the goodness of their heart and as an act of goodwill would have the board fixed at no cost to my husband. Having your integrity questioned is never great but as this was the only offer my husband agreed to have the board fixed. When my husband rang the repairer to make arrangements to pick the board up the repairer was very apologetic and said that the board was faulty and was missing the glass. This guy has integrity, so to the repairers at DSN thanks heaps. You were the only ones to apologise to my husband and it's good to see that there is still some decent people out there. To the others who didn't apologise and made out that my husband should be grateful, all I can say is Karma.

This is a vegetarian cafe but the food is good and plentiful. Service is average. The menu choice is very good even for a non vegetarian. The venue is small downstairs but it does have a wood fired heater to keep you warm in the cold weather. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed.

This shop has been and continues to be the place to go to get anything to do with Surf, Skate, Snow. I was shocked that there is now unfortunately not alot of SURF brands there anymore and that 'Surf Shop" feel has faded. Still great place to look for something new and nice with out going to the massive shopping malls.

This store is always a favourite when passing through Gerringong. It has a fab selection of men's women's and kids clothes. We recently purchased my sons 6ft board there for his birthday..you always get quality gear.

I purchased a board from their online store which was marked as in stock, and said to be 4-13 days postage time . I then received an email two weeks later ( the first communication from them since the initial purchase) informing me that the board I purchased was unavailable and would not be for another six weeks minimum. Thankyou natural necessity for reaffirming my policy to never buy online .

This store is great in winter and summer.Ive been in twice this year and in winter it has all your winter sport needs, clothing, ski gear etc and the same in summer great swimmers, clothing, boards etc. nice staff and informative staff, my husband spent way to long getting info on a board. staff are really happy to help. Adjoining is also a great cafe.

Great sales at natural necessity. Staff helpful and heaps to choose from. Gerringong itself is a great place to visit. There is also a café in the surf shop that I hear is delicious!

They have a great range of wetsuits and we found just what we were looking for. The staff are really helpful. The vegetarian cafe also has great food!!

What I likes was the amount of surf boards to check out. What I dislike is that you can buy most of this in local surf shops and probably cheaper.

We've been shopping at Natural Necessity (NN) since arriving in Australia 18 months ago. We've purchased boards (and rented boards for visiting friends and family), wetsuits, clothing, and accessories. We look forward to each of our trips to NN. Their stock of fashion and hard-core surf gear is absolutely superb, their employees outstanding, and the overall atmosphere of the store is easy going. Brilliant stock in surfboards -- everything from short boards to SUPs. Multiple lengths, thicknesses, finishes. Rental and new/used boards for purchase.I've visited every surf shop (I can find) between Eden, NSW and Noosa, QLD. Natural Necessity is clearly the best.
