Day on the water with Liam was special and his knowledge of the river and Tassie was brilliant. Great host together with Dale. River with amazing beauty and the rapids was interesting and easy to handle with Liam's help and advice. A fantastic day out and most paddlers will enjoy the challenges and views.

What a fantastic day! Perfect weather, flowing clear water with beautiful Tassie mountains as a backdrop, platypus and fish jumping.....and two wonderful guides to tell us about the history and nature of the area along the way. We thought we were going to have a fun day on the rapids and this was certainly the case, but the standout unexpected surprise was how comfortable Liam and Dale made us feel on the day, looking out for us and making us feel safe at every turn.We can't think of a better way to experience Tasmania's pristine environment or two nicer people to spend it with. Highly recommend this tour!Sonia & Peter

This is a very professional operation and Tassie Bound offers an exciting way to see the true beauty of this area. Liam is passionate about sharing his love for the area and the joys of kayak adventures. I'd been thinking about trying a kayak experience for sometime. I had even read the poster at the campground notice board (Mt Field National Park). Liam dropped in to the campground on Saturday afternoon so we signed up for a Derwent River Adventure trip the next day. We had a fabulous day out on the river with lots of calm water and a few very exciting "grade 2 rapids". Liam supplied everything including gourmet wraps and cakes for our lunch stop on the banks of the river. Dan was a highly capable and very knowledgeable guide who made us feel confident and safe at all times so that we could just relax and enjoy the day. As a mid fifties couple I was wondering if three hours of paddling would be too much - luckily the lunch break gave the energy needed to tackle the last few rapids with ease. We both managed to stay upright for the whole trip so we cooled off at the end by jumping into the rapids! I'm keen to do more and would love to do the Lake Pedder tour.

I thought this was a brilliant day. The tour guides were informative, friendly and also outstanding kayak instructors. It had been many years since I hopped in a kayak; and Snapey and Dale taught us the basic strokes and how best to negotiate the rapids. I found the rapids to be a lot of fun. I also enjoyed seeing a platypus! Liam made a nice lunch and told us lots of interesting facts about Tasmania on our drive to the Derwent River and back to New Norfolk. I certainly hope to be back to experience a different kayak tour with Tassie Bound.I appreciated the photos taken and would highly recommend Tassie Bound to anyone who wants to kayak in Tasmania.

We had a great evening paddling the Derwent. Liam and Snapee were fantastic. Liam picked us up from our accommodation and drove us to the boat ramp, drove us to the Farm Bar and then dropped us back at our accommodation. How relaxing can you get!! Our 9 year old son had a great time, with Snapee really taking care of him while on the river and encouraging him to continue on his own. My son felt a great sense of achievement. The Farm Bar was in a great setting with rolling hills and watching the pigs were a lot of fun. The whole trip was great value for money and really, really enjoyable. We would do it again.

The reviews here on trip advisor sounded so good we thought we should try this adventure. It was everything we thought it would be and more. Owner Liam is passionate about the outdoor experience and providing a unique small group experience. This was one of the great draw cards for us - that we were the only people on this tour. We are a family of five, with a teenager and two younger children. All of our needs were so well catered for, from the simple tips and short kayaking lesson at the start, to the support down the gentle Rapids for our youngest, to the beautiful lunch and swim, and the flexibility of pace and timing to suit or needs. Michael was very patient with our youngest and keen to share his love of the outdoors as well. I highly recommend this tour for first time kayakers - you'll be hooked! Thank you Liam, Michael and Fiona for our best day out in two weeks of Tasmanian adventures.

We had a fantastic day of kayaking on the Derwent. It was our first time in Tassie and our second day in Hobart. Dale and Snapee were our guides for the day (poor Liam was a bit injured but was still down there helping unload kayaks!) and the guys were fantastic. We spotted our first platypus within a minute of hitting the water and spotted more down stream including one on the side of the bank scratching his belly and starring at us. The water is crystal clear, the scenery is amazing, you can see the bottom very easily and the rapids are plenty, tackled quite a few of them including a few hairy ones towards the end which get the blood going. Stopped for lunch under an old historic train bridge and enjoyed Liam's tasty chicken wraps and homemade raspberry muffins before hitting the water again. Thoroughly recommend doing this if you visit Hobart, Liam, Dale and Snapee are brilliant guides and you're guaranteed awesome fun for the entire trip downstream. Hope to see you guys when we come back for more adventures!!

Had a fantastic paddle down the Derwent River with Tassie Bound. Our guide Liam was tops and made us feel in safe hands - it was the first kayaking experience for my wife, and now she is hooked. Heaps of fun with a good combination of action and cruisy relaxation. Liam is also a chef, so lunch was pretty awesome too!

Definitely one of the best experiences ever! With different trips, you can choose the one that best suits your needs. As far as the relaxing one is concerned, just perfect for the beginners, it's very enjoyable to paddle among the ducks, taking time to stare at nature. Not to mention the convivial moments you can share, such as the meal, with Liam, the so friendly guide! All that is just few minutes away from Hobart (30 minutes by bus, along the river, for $13 return).I recommend it to all of you!

This is by far the best kayaking trip I have ever been on.I was worn out by the end of it and I am a slightly unfit 19year old. There was plenty of historical information and the kayaking was great. It was raining when we started but luckily it cleared up.There was even some slightly harded graded rafting towards the end

It was great not to have to drive for hours to enjoy some beautiful scenery of state forest. The area is so peaceful.

We were browsing the net trying to find a great activity for the kids (11 and 12) to do in the school holidays and happened upon the kayaking on lake pedder. It was fantastic. Liam took us down to lake pedder, with lots of interesting information about the area, including lots of suggestions for possible walks, along the way. He made sure everyone was comfortable in their kayak as we paddled on the lake to a secluded little rocky beach where we had lunch(thanks for the yummy wraps and delicious chocolate brownie!). Everything was relaxed and enjoyable making it a great day for the whole family.

We did the 1/2 day paddle down the Derwent River yesterday (end of April). Liam was a fantastic host and looked after us all the way. April is Autumn so the amazing golden foliage and soft sunshine made the river look even more gorgeous. No fall ins! what a bonus. Thanks for the blackberry muffins Liam. Great day, I highly recommend it. Maybe next time we'll do the Lake Pedder paddle.

Yes.. SImply fantastic!.. we went here in the month of April & Liam was our guide who helped us in understanding how to kayak (we were first timers). We had some rapids on our way & we fell into the water once as well .. which of course Liam had warned us about but at the end of the day we had what we asked for.. adventure!we asked for veg lunch & we had this delicious veg meal when we stopped by a scenic area in the middle of our kayaking.. to add to it we had this homemade blackberry muffins from Liam's kitchen.we had our fill with the veg lunch & we packed the muffin but unfortunately we missed taking it on our way back home..:(at the end of our day we loved the whole experience & were left with a feeling of wanting more of the action that we had..Liam was great & he helped us learn a lot about Kayaking & me & my wife could not have had a better start to our honeymoon :)I would strongly recommend Tassie Bound kayaking (hobart).

My wife and I took the full day trip down the Derwent River. Neither of us have much kayaking experience but had a fantastic day. At the start Liam said there was a 50% chance of one of us falling in the river. I went in twice and the missus once, so we've stacked the odds in favour of the next few customers staying dry. Liam was a great tour guide and instructor and lunch was one of the tastiest vegetarian wraps I have had. So good me and the missus bought a couple of yaks through Liam. Thanks Mr Google.
