Ross小镇是塔岛遗产公路中部很有特色的地方!镇子很小，步行二十分钟就能走一圈，羊毛中心就在小镇中央，和旅游信息中心在同一地方，里面包括了羊毛的各种制品，这里的UGG手感不错，比我们后来在悉尼和墨尔本看的国内热炒的品牌好很多，而且价格只有一百二十到一百五十刀。当时没经验没买，后来比较悉和墨的后就后悔了。羊毛中心不远处的老桥也很不错!

If in Ross it is worth looking in at the Wool Centre. It is certainly there to sell local merino wool products. But there is also an apartment interesting and well displayed story of the industry in Tasmania. The story of merino wool is well set out and for such a small place, those in Ross who set up this centre should be congratulated.

We were surprised to see the quality of the Wool Centre environment ,merchandise and displays. Not only does the centre display and sell woolen products but also has got some fascinating displays showing the wool industry, the history of Tasmania and the Ross area in particular. If in Ross or just passing through the area, the Wool Centre is a must see. Surprisingly also, admission is free.

Someone has gone to a bit of trouble with the display which was worth a look. However, I found the attitude of the women who work in the shop appauling, sadly they let the whole thing down and the township of Ross in general. They were unhelpful, abrupt and more interested in their own agenda. Should you make a purchase beware if you require a refund, it could take anything up to 7 - 10 days !! Especially on weekends. I would not recommend visiting the Wool Centre in Ross if you are planning to make a purchase from the very overpriced collection of goods.

It didn't really interest me and the prices for items were better suited for big cities. However the people knew what they were talking about so that was a bonus.

Most product are made in China.Bought one item made in Australia. The lady shop keeper may be friendlier.Tasmania seems to behind in Hospitality Industry.

This is a wool museum but also a Ross history museum. The facility is small but most informative. Feel various grades of wool and see how it is sheared. If you get to talk to the manager she is an added benefit.

We often pop in to check out what is happening at the Wool Centre - and I left having purchased a pair of possum gloves, and one of my daughter in laws also bought some gloves and a pair of thick leggings/socks. Nice range of woolen products and the museum section is also interesting.

As a Tasmanian that travels a lot between Hobart and Launceston I rarely get a chance to stop and visit towns along the way. I had the chance to do this today and called into the Tas Wool Centre. Shame I had to I interrupt a staff member from whatever she was doing at the desk to ask for assistance and still had to wait for her to finish what she was doing before she came over (I was the only customer in the shop). The condescending attitude finished it off for me and I left without spending the money I had burning in my pocket. And they wonder why tourists don't take time to spend money here ...

Very informative display and overview of Tasmanian wool/sheep industry - some interactive displays to touch the wool samples, etc. Quite a lot of local Tasmanian history which was to be expected - good place to go to find out more about the town of Ross and its' history. Some beautiful products in the shop - seemed expensive but very nice/good quality.

so the wool museum was ok, but what can you say about wooland sheep that makes it exciting? the shop attached had a lovely gift shop, but you would need to take out a mortgage to purchase any wool product

Ross is a delightful stop on the road from Launceston to Hobart, actually it is just off the main road. It is beautiful entering the town through an avenue of shady trees. The town has a very wide lawned median strip with wooden seating and stone tables, as well as parking bays. The Wool Centre looked interesting so we paid a visit. There is a great wool museum, but most of all we enjoyed browsing at the wide range of woollen clothing or accessories such as beanies, gloves etc. We bought two items, one of which was on sale, making the overall purchase worth it. After leaving the Wool Centre, we drove over the Ross stone bridge on our way to Hobart.

Spontaneous stop to Ross on the way to Launceston from Hobart. I was a lot more interesting than I had expected. The wool centre is a museum about the History of Ross and the wool industry of Australia. The shop attached to the centre was a bit below average. It was quite pricey, however very good quality. If you enter Ross from the Hobart side (turning right) you drive over a small beautiful bridge which has a very interesting story behind it! Overall definitely a town to visit if you are driving past.
