a lovely place to taste wine or stay for a platter and glass of wine. The staff are very friendly and the view of the Tamar Valley and river are spectacular! The cellar door is decorated really top notch and there are tables inside and outside on the verandah depending on the weather conditions.

Stopped here along the highway and did the wine tasting staff were very knowledgable and friendly. We ended up buying a bottle and sitting inside enjoying a cheese platter on the rainy day.

Miryana was so informed at this winery, and gave us great information about the wines and the region. We really enjoyed our visit and were so happy to have stumbled upon this winery off the highway. The view is also stunning over the vally and river. Highly recommended!

We visited Tamar Ridge Cellar Door as part of a Tamar Valley Wine Tour and was impressed by the knowledge and friendliness of the staff. We tasted great wine. We didn't have any food but the menu looked good and lovely outdoor as well as indoor seating. Will go again

It was a typical misty & cool northern Tasmanian autumn afternoon when we came upon this cellar door while looking around the Launceston area. Traveling up the winding driveway drove up to the modern, low building perched on the edge of the ridge line. There were no visitors at the tasting bar when we first went inside and stepping in we were first caught by the view of the Tamar River far below. Amazing.Turning to the business at hand we had a lively chat with the staff while tasting what they had on offer that we were most interested in - namely the lighter whites and the pinot noir Tasmania is famous for. It was so welcoming there that uncharacteristically we just decided to order a fruit & cheese platter plus a couple of glasses of wine and settle on the low slung couches facing the floor-to-ceiling windows. A more enjoyable time I've not had in a while as we watched the ever changing clouds and mists advance and recede over the river valley while enjoying our repast. Of course we wound up bringing several bottles home with us. Tamar Ridge was one of those serendipitous discoveries that we'll not soon forget. Thanks again to all the staff!

A great cellar door experience that provides not only top class wine but also the best view of the Tamar River. There was nothing better than sitting on the deck with a glass of delicious Tamar Ridge Riesling, a cheeky cheese platter, and a view that sweeps across the valley. A great afternoon, and a must do experience if you are passing through Launceston or the north of Tasmania.

We stopped in here for a wine tasting and ended up staying over an hour. The staff were very helpful and we ended up purchasing a cheese platter which we enjoyed on the deck overlooking the valley. The wine tasting continued while we sat at the deck so it was very relaxing. Not to mention that the wines are lovely. We particularly enjoyed the botrytis dessert wine.
