We stopped by after our cruise at Port Arthur - kind of an out of nowhere type place, not much around this restaurant - but be sure to watch out for signs as it is well worth the time to stop by for wine and to eat.The restaurant sits on top of a small hillock, overlooking the Bangor Bay, with vineyards around it. Very serene and peaceful and pretty views. It is a small restaurant, few tables, with a counter overlooking the bay - and a couch-settee with fireplace. They cater for the small VIPs too, with space to play with toys in front of the fire, a sandpit out by the gardens (when the weather is good). Nice touch. We had good food - we started with a dozen oysters and mussels, but ended up eating another dozen of oysters! Fresh and sweet, hard to stop! The Pinot Noirs were good, bold and flavorful.Service was warm, and helpful. Overall, recommend to stop on the back from Port Arthur to Hobart (about mid point)

As a regular visitor to Tasmania I am always keen to visit new aces. This place is very new but you would never know. I started with the tasting plate of oysters. They are plump pacific bay oysters they were EXCELLENT. I love seafood so after a rest and enjoying my novel while looking out at the beautiful scenery I then had the mussels they didn't disappoint either. I matched with a glass of wine. It was a shame I had to drive as the wine was great too. I will be back the staff were friendly efficient and knowledgable about their product.

We had a fantastic day at Bangor today. Stunning wines, especially loved the sparkling, and cider, and the food and view are to die for! The Cataplana mussel dish is fresh and delicious, as are the beautiful oysters. We plan to visit regularly over summer and can't wait to go back!

What a spectacular find on the outskirts of Dunalley. Delicious food and wine - the best oysters I've ever tasted, and without a doubt the freshest given the close proximity of the farm, all in a stunning setting. Can't wait for my next trip to Tas, so I can get back there and try out the rest of the menu!

I recently visited the newly opened Bangor Wine and Oyster Shed for lunch with friends and family and would highly recommend it if you are in the area. The first thing to mention is the stunning location. The driveway goes up past the lush green vineyard to arrive on the crest of a hill with panoramic views of the bay's, beaches and bushland surrounding this modern building which tastefully blends in to the landscape. The interior again blends modern design with pleasingly rustic touches such as the large wooden roof struts which we were told were all harvested on the fully working farm. Lots of big picture windows allowed in light and again showcased the stunning views. The menu was mostly about seafood but why not when Tasmania has some of the best oysters mussels etc. in the world. My wife and I shared the seafood platter matched with a bottle of the Chardonnay. It was wonderful to be able to see the bay where the oysters are farmed and to see the grapevines where the Chardonnay is grown. I would have liked the option of french fries (I just love fries with mussels) or a little more bread but this is my only criticism. We also had 2 young children in our party and they had a great time playing outside on the lawns and in the big sandpit. Highly recommended and best of luck with this new enterprise Bangor Wine and Oyster Shed.
