We didn't stay at the pub, but had a delicious lunch there on the way back from the Beauty Point attractions. We had a hearty home cooked lunch here and was pleasantly surprised to have heaps of fresh vegetables stacked on our plate. (Not frozen veges). The staff were very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief lunch stay here.

After a long exhausting ride from St Helens, we came across a lovely old world pub. Beautifully restored from a back packers to a more traditional classic hotel. Great hosts, good food and interesting locals made our stay truly memorable.

Our little group of eleven had enjoyed a tour of the Beaconsfield Mine Museum and were pretty hungry by the time we finished. Guess I should mention we were also somewhat thirsty. A bit of prior research led to our heading for the Exchange Hotel for lunch, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. Okay, it's a pub, and nothing too fancy either. But the staff looked after us, the food for the eleven of us amazingly came out at the same time (almost - one dish was overlooked but it was quickly remedied) and the prices were very reasonable. I had the beer battered fish and chips which was surprisingly tasty. Even better was that our guide from the Beaconsfield mine joined us for a beer and we had an unexpected extension to our mine tour with added details about the two men who were rescued. So for anyone planning a visit to the Beaconsfield Mine Museum I'd recommend doing the tour in the morning and follow it with a lunch at the Exchange Hotel. A great way to enjoy a day in Tassie!
