Can't decide whether we came for the beer or for the dogs. probably both. Hoppy the youngest (8 months!) samoyed greeted us the moent we entered and presented her rope toy to play. She was the most high spirited of the 3 Samoyeds on site, although all 3 were very friendly. Samoyeds are our favorite dogs now.We had a tasting paddle ($10 for 5 beers) which we enjoyed on the deck at the back, facing the Myponga reservoir. Saw a pair of kangaroos hopping past. The beer I liked most was the 12 Paws. Also tried a Chilli Beer, which went quite well with food. Was pleasantly surprised to see a wide selection of other Australian craft beers for sale, including my favorite brewery Stone & Wood.Tried their pizza cooked in the wood fired oven out at the front of the brewery. At $24, it wasn't cheap but was good value. Wandered around the adjacent Myponga market while waiting for pizza to cook.

Loved the samoyeds, beautiful dogs :) The Brewery was a fascinating place, full of all sorts of artifacts. Had our drinks on the back verandah, overlooking the Myponga Reservoir and saw a few 'roos playing in a nearby paddock. A bucks party was in progress in one section. You need to spend a while, (or a few drinks), to really take in the full character of the place....we enjoyed the visit.

Loved the "hand crafted" beers and the lovely atmosphere of the place. We have not tried any food but judging from the reaction of others it must have been pretty good. Highly recommended if you are into good quality beers.

If you love beer as much as i do, you probably already know about this little southern gem of a brewpub. Just an hour out of the CBD, down Main South road on the way to Kangaroo Island, and you are transformed into an oasis of craft beergasms in surroundings akin to the Aussie outback indoors.......except you are adjacent to the Myponga Reservoir. No droughts here! Outback relics of a bygone era adorn the interior of this joint where you can either sit outside and admire the pine forests that abut the waters edge, or chill out to acoustic tunes in the craftbeergarden, or perhaps just marvel at their stainless steel brew vessels through the indoor viewing window! Either way, you have quality malted beverage on tap plus a vast assortment of local bottled beer chilled for your enjoyment along with the some of the best potatoe wedges and wood fired pizza in this neck of the woods. If you want to experience proper beer the way it should be brewed, and even have a chat with Simon or Kate......the brewers, this place comes highly recommended. Do yourself a flavour!! Thier IPA is the bomb! Get some into your veins!

$7 to taste the 5 beers brewed by the Smiling Samoyed Brewery, served on a custom made tray fashioned from old vinyl records, very cool. Don't just drive through Myponga, spend a lazy weekend afternoon here, highly recommended.

Stopped in on the way home from Wirrina - shared a chorizo wood fired pizza for lunch and a locally brewed beer. Good pizza and nice beer.Cool decor and relaxed vibe.Didn't stay too long as we had other plans - but enjoyed ourselves and will come back for a bit longer. They were just about to have some live music - would have been great to stay a bit longer.

what a great find! Sightseeing in South Australia on other's Day came across the Smiley Samoyed Brewery in Myponga, we enjoyed a platter for 2 plus hubby tried 4 different beers and I had apple and pomegranate cider, just delicious, but unfortunately it was only on tap and not one of the brewery's own. Service was friendly and food was great value. There was also a live band playing on this day. Children could pat the beautiful Samoyed dogs. We would recommend a visit to the brewery if travelling in the area.

Great little place off the main road at Myponga. Excellent pizza, beautifully cooked with nice big chunks of fresh produce toppings. Friendly service. A warm & friendly place to watch the kangaroos in the long grass just outside by the lake. I had the IPA which was very nice. Then the chocolate beer which lacked some body & was probably a bit too weak to go with the lovely chocolate cake. But that was the only drawback to a very pleasant time. The dogs are also very cute & friendly, but I certainly hope they get out for a walk. All in all - make a date & check it out. Worth the visit.

Great beer' excellent pizza! And the chocolate cake was sublime... Fabulous setting for a micro brewery and well worth a visit! I love that this brewery is run by a local, and a female. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, gorgeous fire. Watched the Kangaroo's beside the water while w ate and tasted the brew! Definitely be heading back here next time I'm near Myponga..

Decided to stop in at the Smiling Samoyed Brewery on our way to Deep Creek and boy, were we glad we did! It was late Friday afternoon and when we arrived, we were the only ones there. Kate talked us through the tasting vinyl record, yup, that right, your beer samplers are presented in a tray made from old LPs and provided us with plenty of info on the brewery. The is a lot of old memorabilia in the way of signs and bottles throughout the shed which adds to its quirkiness. There is a good range of beer styles. Would love to go back and check out the food. And the 3 samoyeds are gorgeous.

I visited this place many years ago, it was a bunch of guys making home brew in a shed, not so now. They brew quality craft beer here in purpose built micro brewery, the food is fantastic for soaking a few ales up. They had wood fired pizzas and platters when we were there, reasonably priced and very tasty. The three smiling dogs outside are extremely friendly and enjoy the fuss made of them. All round a great place to spend the afternoon, soak up the views, beer and food. We'll come back again with a few mates. Beware IPA 6.8% alc by volume!!!!!

Is the only word to describe the wood fire pizzas and craft beer. Well priced tasting platter of beers will be a great entrée for the changing menu of pizzas on offer. The samoyeds (3) were really friendly and enjoyed a pat! I hope they get the opportunity to walk around the brewery, as they were tied up near the front when we visited! Will definitely come again in the near future!
