This charming bar and restaurant with sand floors and woven mat walls was a pleasant surprise. I expected a major tourist trap but found delicious food and good service in a sparkling clean setting. At the front entrance there are large panels with the names of famous people who have visited and it was fun to check these out. Take time to cross the street to the pier and and enjoy the amazing views. Our only shock was when we got the check--very pricey but so is the entire area. This is definitely worth a trip--bet it really hops at night!

The first day we arrived at this stunningly beautiful island described by Hemingway as the most beautiful place on the face of the earth, the humidity was so bad we didn't want to get off of our cruise ship. We went to Bloody Mary's beach bar as a group and as we walked on the sand they raked it behind us keeping it perfect looking. The humidity continued to drown us and we ended up in the one air conditioned place on the island, the black pearl shop where I "just had to buy" my wife a set of black pearl earrings which were to be mounted later by our jeweler at home. You could hardly move in this small shop as everyone was trying to get out of the heat. Our cruise continued to Papeete, the capital of Tahiti and most (2,000) disembarked. 150 of us were going on to New Zealand and Australia and unknowingly back to Bora Bora. When we arrived the second day at Bora Bora I knew what Hemingway meant. The weather was perfect, the island was serene, humidity all gone, and a walk in the coral waters was a wonderful memory except for the cuts on my feet. I still treasure this second day as one of the truly best days of my life. By the way we visited much earlier than they allow us to check.

Now we can say we have been here! Everyone says you have to go here so we did. What they didn't say is that they stop serving food at 2 pm and the waitstaff is not helpful and is pretty rude most of the time. We finally received our "Bloody Mary" signature drink, which was good, and then had a few beers. Had a good time with some people we met. Not a place I will probably ever go back to but glad I can say I made if there.

We wanted just to have a drink or a little snack. My wife entered the bar and was told that the bar is open (but there was no one in the late afternoon). So, we entered with our baby and sat down but nothing had happened for a while. But the bar keeper saw us and knew about us since my wife asked him if they were open. After some more waiting we just decided to leave and asked the bar keeper why he did not come to us. He was quite rude and said he thought we are just making photos. Well, yes, so why did my wife ask if we can get something to drink? This is not a place to go. They just bring there tourists to get your money based on the wall of fame where you see names of celebrities. We went then to Intercontinental but I think whatever else is much better option.

This place had been highly recommended as a tourist attraction. To be honest, it has been over hyped with the lists of famous people who have visited over the years. Having said that, we had some decent bar food and nice cocktails. We loved the laid back atmosphere and weren't too troubled by the tourists popping in for a look. There is a sandal repository when you arrive and the floor is all sand, quite neat, although there is not much else to do on the Island.I wouldn't make a visit to the island for this place, but as you're there it is a nice way to spend an afternoon. People on Bora Bora are not very friendly though. Oh, I almost forgot, you might want to take a camera when you visit the gents.

We had heard so much about this bar - it was set out beautifully and we loved the toilets - ladies, go into the mens toilets and see the 'apparatus' - and take a photo! the cocktails were expensive but the beer was cheap at 450XPF - not bad for French Polynesia. Disappointed that the bar was not right on the beach - and boy is it dark inside the bar - take a torch! This bar sells tee-shirts which are expensive, along with other trinkets.

My husband and I recently visited this bar whilst en route back to our cruise ship. Please do not expect a warm welcome from the extremely insolent bar tender or the 'lukewarm' waiter service. We popped in for a quick drink and afterwards, made quite a quick exit as the atmosphere was somewhat lacklustre.Although it's a reasonably attractive venue we will not make a return visit. All I will say is, please will the manager have a word with your staff - RUDE,RUDE, RUDE!!!

It is a nice place with sand in the toes dining...stopped for a drink which was good but couldn't find anyone to order a second. Went for dinner with no reservation and was asked what my room number was? No hello or welcome - noone was sitting and eating - and we were told it would be a hour. Many other great places to eat - I would pass it by other than for a drink in the afternoon.

I looked for Jimmy B, but no luck. This is a great little spot to hangout during a lazy day and have a drink. Food is good and not terrible price wise. Come back at night and let loose.

We were on our honeymoon. Our wedding was "toes in the sand" reception. This is the same feel at this restaurant. Good food. Competitive prices. No menus. Lots of celebrities have been there. Tshirt selection is nice, but they were out of a ton of sizes when we were there.

Bloody Mary's is well known on this island there is long list of VIP 's who have visited here. We didn't eat, but had a fabulous cocktail. The bar staff also allowed me to join their Wi Fi for the time I was there. Staff super friendly, layout and ambience wonderful. Loved it, so different from any other watering hole I have ever been too.
