If you are overweight, approaching 60 years old, and never done any sport.... This is for you !Coming from London, UK, I really wanted to include this experience to my Canada trip.I was expecting to be bullied by the youngsters, all fit and Young...It was the opposite.Annie the "Directrice" was really lovely and put us at ease straight away. The outstanding professionalism of the guides were very good....... You might even survived, one said !Their sense of humour, their kindness and of course their sense of security was fantastic. The Equipment supplied was clean and of a high quality, despite the temperature of the water being very cold, we did not feel it.Go there, it is a must, you will not be disapointed !Hervé & Nathalie

My husband and I had such a great time! They are very safe and very well prepared. We were able to see their rescue procedures in action and I was highly impressed with how well they managed it. It is so much fun but be prepared to work! Highly recommended activity and company!

The rapids were great . The guide terrific. He explained each rapid before entering. Very safe operation. Stayed for the dinner afterward. It was great tasting and a great price. We did this on a rainy day which made no difference at all. I would recommend this as a nice thing to do if your looking for something to do on a rainy day.Though I am sure it's just as nice on a sunny day.

We booked a morning session at the last minute at the end of our holiday. The staff were excellent in arranging a session for us. We ended up with two other members of the public and four staff so as to fill the boat. They were extremely diligent with the safety talk at the beginning and also gave specific instructions before each rapid so you felt safe and confident. Once on the river the experience was amazing. Great fun, great scenery and some excellent rapids. We got the chance to swim through a small section of rapids and also jump off a couple of high rocks into the water. Our main guide was Gabriel but a second guide, Paul, who was completing his evaluation to become a full guide, also did a lot of the guiding. Both were excellent and along with the other staff made it a brilliant end to our holiday in Canada.

The six of us chose to take this adventure while we were on our vacation for a friends birthday, unsure of what to expect. A few of us were hesitant to go, with one person particularly terrified. Our guide, Simon, was absolutely amazing and totally took her under his wing and helped her and all of us have a very memorable adventure. It was very safe, and the guides are very friendly and experienced. We also joined the guides and staff for dinner afterwards, and had a delicious meal of salmon, salad, and baked potatoes. A few of them even sang 'happy birthday' to our friend in French :). The staff is so down to earth, and you can tell that they really enjoy what they do and are interested in getting to know their visitors. We finally ended a fantastic evening with a beer by the bonfire :).

Thank you! My family group of 7 women ages, 13-82, and 1 male took part in a half-day rafting adventure and had an incredible time! Aaron was our raft guide and he was a delight. He was firm but funny, trained us well, showed a lot of patience and took good care of us "older ladies". Language was no problem as Aaron was perfectly bilingual. My brother was the only male in our group and he was glad to have Aaron in charge of us as well! It was exciting, hard work and safety-conscious and what beautiful scenery. The Jacques Cartier River through Tewkesbury is an untouched wilderness gem. Our rafting trip helped to make our family reunion/ wake a great success and was truly a "bon aventure"!

What a fantastic 3 hours of fun! The white water rapids are great fun in the hands of the highly experienced and qualified guides. The safety standard is very high but there is a equal amount of fun, great mixture. Through yourself at the water activities to make it even better. To top of a great day the evening bbq is great and well deserved!

We took "The Traditional" half day tour during the middle of our Quebec City vacation but did not stay for food. The location is gorgeous, just the drive out there is worth it. They are very well organized, safe, and have great instructors. Our family was one of the few that didn't speak French, so our instructor had to work twice as hard to give instructions in both languages. Everyone in our family rated this as one of the best parts of the trip. Well worth it!

This rafting trip was the best ever. My sons and I had been rafting before, but my wife and daughter had not and all of us agreed it was a great experience. Our kids are 13, 15 & 17.It is not, however, for the faint of heart. You raft through Class V rapids and then get to jump from a 30 foot high cliff into the river ---- the most awesome extreme water jumping you will ever do. We always felt safe and secure. Our guide Simon was experienced and had a level of expertise that made everyone feel comfortable. At the end of the trip we took advantage of a steak and salmon grill cooked meal that was the best priced meal we had our entire trip - and it was good tasting as well. The woman who runs the place and grills your dinner is part of the Canadian National rafting team and she was helpful and friendly as well.We would all go back in a heartbeat.

We planned a rafting trip on our second day in Quebec with New Wave Expeditions. We selected New Wave Expeditions based primarily due to the high reviews read on Trip Advisor. What a great decision and awesome company!Neither my husband or 16 year old teen had rafted before and for me it was many years ago. The staff and guides are very thorough, and instruction and safety is their primary focus in making the rafting trip a fun and thrilling adventure.Upon arrival we quickly noted that the facility and equipment is great, staff very welcoming and hospitable. After we geared up in wetsuits, boots, helmets, life jackets we headed to the bus for a short ride to our "put in" point. While on the bus we received instruction on safety and what to expect. When we arrived at our starting point we did equipment checks, more instruction and headed to the river and got into the raft. We then individually jumped out of the raft to practice others pulling us back in the raft so we were prepared to pull someone back in if they ended up dumping. The guide was very good at making sure everyone was listening and understood the paddling and maneuvering instructions (all practiced repeatedly) prior to setting out. Prior to each set of rapids (III, IV and V) we were given the name, details of the rapid, where to swim if we ended up out of the raft, etc.Several stops were taken along the way. One to disembark and jump off a rock into the rapids, another to take a thrilling jump off of a 30 foot cliff - literally. It was a bit daunting at first but an absolute thrill! Our rafting mates (2 rafts total on this run) were great and it is amazing how the staff successfully encourages teamwork and trust with the group. Rafting with a smaller group was a major plus and most preferred, as opposed to the VERY large group from another rafting company spotted while on the river. It made our experience much more personable and enjoyable. At the end of the trip we showered, changed and opted for the dinner (steak or salmon) which was a great way to end the adventure. The food was delicious and grilled to order. Drinks are available as well and it was great to be able to visit with our rafting mates and relive the adventure yet again through conversation. The Jacques Cartier river is definately one to be respected and loved. Beautiful scenery, thrilling rapids and clearly this trip was the highlight of our trip! We will definately return to experience the adventure again with New Wave Expeditions!!Barb (Charlottesville, VA)

My daughter and I spent a full day rafting with a couple of great guides - Arron and Olivier, The lack of rain had brought the water level down, so the river did not pack the same punch as it does in the spring. But the guides didn't let it hamper our experience one bit. Annie was a great hostess. We couldn't have asked for a better day.

I heartily recommend New Expeditions if you are planning a white water rafting trip in Quebec. We had a fantastic time! We had done rafting before in Categories III and IV, but on this trip we had Category V. What a thrill! The guides are experienced and professional. We appreciated that the entire team stressed safety and felt that we were in good hands. Besides their professionalism, they are a great bunch of nice people. Alain, one of the owners, kayaked beside us and made sure that everything went smoothly. We greatly enjoyed his vibrant personality, as well. The meal after the rafting was magnifique'. The steak and salmon were equally delicious. Thank you to Alain,Theri, Florence, Christian, Guillame, and Patrice.

For our first family rafting trip (kids ages 12 and 14), this was an outstanding adventure and certainly a highlight of our trip. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and placed a big emphasis on training and safety, but they were also a lot of fun. Exciting rapids, fun activities like swimming the rapids and cliff jumping - would highly recommend the afternoon to anyone - especially families with a sense of adventure.

Despite the relatively low water levels in the river, the trip was a great thrill for all of us and we really enjoyed the positive, fun way that our raft guides led us.
