Looking out to the Pacific Ocean the sites and sounds and street walks of English Bay in Vancouver are truly a wonderful way to spend a weekend afternoon...or break from your business meeting if in Vancouver.

We took it back and forth from the airport during our recent visit. It was easy to buy a ticket at the machine, arrived within minutes, the train was very crowded, we got off at Yaletown. Everyone was courteous and the ride was quite enjoyable.

After taking a stroll/drive through Stanley Park, we ended up at English Bay. Nice stretch of beach where we parked and took another stroll. Because of the weather, there were only a few people on the beach. This is a great place to watch the sun set. Lovely.

Gorgeous views of the bay are available from many high building windows throughout the city! In the past, we've also seen fireworks shows from bayside!

A great place to people watch! Lots of places to sit & enjoy the Bay. Lovely views of the Sea & Mountains. Great Places to Eat and Drink Close by.

On a sunny day in winter, English Bay is just perfect - hardly anyone on the beach, view of the big ships anchored outside the bay... I even got a hotel with a view of it!

Was great that there is a local I drink in the Main Street for the kids, good shopping and a funky vibe

The weather was perfect and I loved walking along the Seawall. Vancouver has a great deal to offer, and you can see a lot of possibilities from the vantage point of English Bay.

The city has developed a great system of beaches and walking/running/cycling trails around English Bay, from Stanley Park up north, all the way to Kitsilano Beach on the south.Parking can be a pain, so use transit if possible. But there is lots to discover for kids going beach-combing, and friends just hanging out. You have the choice of sun or shade over most of the beach because of the treed parks adjacent. There are some lovely picnic spots. You will meet all kinds of people on a sunny day, and a good crowd turns up at the big stone inukshuk on Second Beach to watch the summer sunsets. You will see all kinds of sailboats, motor yachts and sailboards out on a good day, along with the large cargo ships swinging at anchor farther out in the Bay.Highly recommended!

English Bay will take your breath away!Seeing that I was born and raised in Vancouver,I have had the luxury of enjoying this breathtaking site. You will love the beaches,Sailing,Restaurants,Shopping,Pubs,or just a walk on the beach and a stroll on Denman St or Davie St where you will find an eclectic group of people and stores. You can't miss taking a stop at the Sylvia Hotel-an Icon in Vancouver and a "Must" to see! The food is delicious or you could try the lounge/pub where you can sip on a cocktail or two and watch the boats sail by or just enjoy the scenery. And if you rent a car,or bicycle or walk -one of the entrances to our "Gems of the City is"Stanley Park" ,Which is right at your fingertips-At English Bay!Enjoy-

English Bay has so many beautiful beaches and features I can't list them all, but one of the greatest things is you can catch Salmon, while viewing the mountains overlooking English Bay, and see the city skyline at the same time.
