Lonsdale Quay is accessible easiest by the Sea Bus as it takes you right outside. There are lots of small places to eat and inside the actual market is lots of stalls selling vegetables, bags, jewelry, fish, postcards, mobile phone cases... you name it! Its not a trip to Lonsdale for me without having a wheat grass shot and the juice stall (it really wakes you up!). If you make your way though to the East side of the building you'll find lots of independent food stalls. The best one is the ice-cream and fresh donuts in the center. Mini donuts with your choice of ice-cream on top - serious bliss right there, especially if you sit out on the harbor in the sun!

Hi DoubtingNag,It is unfortunate to hear about your experience at the Market. We are sorry to hear that food vendors weren't open to serve you. If you had arrived before 9am, only our breakfast spots would have been open. We apologize if any vendors were temporarily closed, as the Market has been under construction, as we prepare for exciting new vendors to open. We take pride in offering a variety of food options for our customers and if you find yourself back at Lonsdale Quay Market, please contact us at 604.985.2191.

Come for lunch--lots of great food here. Try Sharky's for an amazing casual meal--incredible value and excellent food. Also, good produce and a great florist. And the sea bus ride from Vancouver is an extra bonus. Enjoy!

I always enjoy going down to the Londsdale Quay Market. Meeting friends for coffee, stopping at the market for fresh produce on the way home, and visiting the booths and shops is a great way to spend time for locals and visitors.Charmaine HammondPAWS Across Canada tour

This is five minutes from home for us, but very convenient location even if coming from downtown as it is right beside the North Van terminal of the Seabus (15 minutes across the harbor). Lots of little shops for bread, good BC wine, flowers, kitchen supplies, etc... and a branch of Kin's big fruit and veggie outlet. Good casual dining at a variety of counters in the food court -- Chinese, Vietnamese, Fish and Chips, etc. And upstairs is perhaps North Van's best pub, the Cheshire Cheese. Great breakfast options and lots of good coffee places, including the cozy "Beans Around the World". Good rendezvous for family and friends, and live music on the pier outside in the summertime.

The quay has so much variety of meal or snack choices and interesting craft and souvenirs. The green grocers and fish mongers appeal to locals and visitors. A lovely idea is sunny day sitting by the fountain watching the boats and people. There's a play area on upper level for little children to blow off steam. Unique children's wear stores up there too. It's a nice change from mainstream shopping venues.

The Weather while we were visiting wasn't the greatest, so we made a trip to Lonsdale Quay with the whole family. We stayed for an excellent lunch and enjoyed killing a few hours in the market to avoid the rain.

I am meeting a friend for lunch today at the Quay and without a doubt we will have a great visit while we enjoy our lunch bought from Sharky's. They prepare delicious food, particularly the meat dishes. Usually there are five choices, my favourite being the baked ham. Side dishes are mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad and often, perogies. At the Quay I can buy flowers, baked goods, clothing, food, magazines, crafts, wine and many other items. As a North Vancouver resident trips to the quay occur weekly and I am grateful to have such a welcoming place to spend an hour or two. The underground parking is free for the first two hours and that is a terrific enticement. Clever marketing indeed. It is an interesting destination for travellers from Vancouver or residents from the north shore.

not what it used to be. tired and old and more like a shopping mall than the market i remember going as a kid.

A great place to visit in the North Shore! Easy access from downtown via Seabus, this place is full of shops, fresh fruits, fish, meat, veggies, flowers, etc. Variety of food in the Food Fair. If you feel like a great meal and generous portions try SHARKY'S CHOPHOUSE!!! A meat shop that serves great meals after 11:30 AM for about $9 Not super fancy but very enjoyable. Robert (the owner) and Ben and their team are all great, helpful and friendly guys. The view of downtown is exceptional, specially during the evening and there is easy transportation to other areas of North Vancouver (Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain, etc.) as there is a bus depot at the location. Well worth a visit rain or shine!

Took the Seabus from downtown Vancouver to Lonsdale market for a couple hours on a Saturday. It was worth it even on a rainy, dreary day. Browsed a few shops, checked out the infamous soups, the craft beer, and ate at the Mexican spot, Cilantro and Jalapeno. Good little mall to browse and would be even better on a sunny day to sit outside on the patio.

If you can't find something to eat here that pleases everyone in your party, I'd be surprised! Indian, Greek, Japanese, sweets, soup, sandwiches, etc. The Artisan Wine Shop is a great place for wine and cheese lovers. I picked up a great Gerwurztraminer cheese there for a reasonable price. There are also other unique gift/card shops as well as Green Leaf Brewery.Right now there's a charity Christmas tree lot with money raised going to Aunt Leah's Place, which supports foster kids.

I am a local and have a few favorites at the Lonsdale Quay. It is a great place to spend time browsing shops and picking up fresh groceries. When I am feeling stiff or sore the drop in Shiatsu Clinic (clothes on) for relief of aches and pains. The Mexican Food Fair is delicious and they make the best Guacamole - Staff members are always pleasant. My husband loves the fish and chips in the food market. The Chesire Cheese is nice pub with an ocean view upstairs. Lovely.

This is like a mini Pikes Market in the you can buy all kinds of things to take home and cook or to eat right there. It has the feel of an exotic market in a clean and safe area. It is 20 yards from the Sea Bus to Vancouver itself in a tourist area. The food is good and more varied that you usually find in Canada. Of course Vancouver is like Canada's California compared to the rest of the country. There is even a nude beach called Wreck Beach across the bay.
