This park is close to where we used to live and is well worth a hike, whether you have just a half hour or half a day. Numerous trails with access to the beach. Dogs are welcome but be sure to pick up the poops since rangers frequently appear and do not take kindly to your pet's souvenirs!Easy access from Marine Drive and if you're on your way to catch a Horseshoe Bay ferry and know that yhou'll arrive early then take this minor detours. You'll be glad you did!

Anyone visiting Vancouver who is a nature lover must come here. Even without the lighthouse itself, the giant Douglas First alone make this worthwhile. Trails are well groomed and there is a choice of easy walks and challenging trails along the rocky shore. Many beautiful lookout points on the way. You can just come for a quick walk, or a challenging two-hour hike. Just beware that weekends in the summer are super busy. Early mornings will get you acquainted with lots of dogs and their proud owners. If you leave Vancouver without coming to the park you really haven't seen this quintessential landmark.

Note that this lighthouse is at Lighthouse Park, on the far west side of West Vancouver. It was a little hard to find, but our GPS directed us there correctly. We were not able to see the full lighthouse (just the top) from the main trail to it and the nearby viewpoint. We walked down to West Beach and from there got some great views of the ocean and the lighthouse. It was worth the trek down there and back up.You can't get to the lighthouse, it is in a restricted area, but it makes for some nice viewing against a blue sky. We enjoyed our hikes in the nearby park.

Love the new paint job on the lighthouse tower just needs some paint on the other accessory buildings.

If you are visiting, or have out-of-town visitors to entertain, its a great place to stroll down, amaze them, for no cost. They will love the forest, and the views to UBC, while getting a light excercise.

This is a relatively easy forest walk out to the old lighthouse on the point. The day we went was a sunny day and I was very impressed to see my first three bald eagles. There was easy parking the day plus some great views of Howe Sound.

It is highly recommended to make the trip for a photo opp and just for the exercise. Take a picnic lunch and make a day of it. It is some of the finest hiking in the area.

It was very hard for us to find a spot to park our car when we came on a nice day last month in July. The hikes are nice. There are several options for long and short hikes. On either side of the trails you can admire the forest. When in season, eating the huckleberries off the bushes is nice. For pictures, visit my blog www.teenvancouver.blogspot.com, there are some in the earlier posts.

Located in Lighthouse Park, the lighthouse is worth a visit. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day hiking and exploring the park and lighthouse.

Located in Lighthouse Park, this is a great place to see as it offers awesome views of Vancouver, and is rarely busy. For elderly or people who need wheelchais assistance, ths is a gret spot as the trail leading to the lighthouse, although steep in a couple spots, is very wide and smooth.

One of the main attractions at Lighthouse park, there are many places you can stop to take great pictures.
