Best links golf in western Canada, and easy to get on. Challenging course, and the wind changes it every time. Clubhouse and support is weak, but if you are a serious golfer, this course is a must play

I have now played this course 3 times. Its a sort of love/hate relationship. The course and clubhouse facilities are excellent, good buggies etc. But, I hate the way the course rears up and bites you just when you reckon you have got everything under control and thoughts of a corporate prize etc. I have played it in all conditions - all in the same round once starting with fog - I think it is one of the best links courses in Canada and a very fair test of golf. The course is exceedingly well prepared by the Green Staff, and the Clubhouse staff are very helpful and friendly. I look forward to winning here one day.......

Played the course a couple of times and really enjoy. Lots of challenges with the fescue and some water, but was cool to play a course like thisI should add the food there is excellent. I had their seafood hot pot with salmon, halibut, prawns and mussels wrapped up in a bed of noodles and tasty sauce. Wow!

This course has everything and is a joy to play for all levels of golfers. It can kick the crap out of you in so many ways and still leave you begging for more torture. Fescue everywhere, undulating greens, and bunkers cruelly placed on fairways to both stick the high handicappers or to re-establish humility in the low handicappers. And here's the kicker: Wednesday afternoon 5:00PM tee-off = $30. Seriously, this is such amazing value. My buddy and I were paired up with another fellow and his son. The Dad (Chris) was preparing for a PRO-AM tournament coming up with his son (Cody, who is 18 and a single digit handicapper) doing the note taking, shots, risks, etc. And Chris kicked the crap out of the course and kept repeating how blown away he was with the course.I LOVE THIS COURSE. Seriously, it will take a deep well of strength of personal esteem to get thru to the other side. Still, it is so fun. I lost 6 balls, I am a 28 handicappers, shot a 48-58 and had a blast. I parred the first two holes before the Golf Gods got their alarms flashing and slammed me back to reality.Fun, Fun, value.

This course is well worth a visit, but it's a tough test, even from the forward tees. The fairways are in pretty good shape considering the local (windy) conditions. There's very little rough, but lots of ball-eating fescue all over the place, and water on a number of the holes. You can often play here when it's raining in Vancouver, since there's only half the rainfall. It's a very interesting design, not biased against right-handers, with large and well-conditioned greens.Power carts are gasoline-powered, smelly, noisy and crotchety.Staff in the construction-trailer clubhouse are friendly and accommodating.

Kings Links gets a bit a of a bad rap. It is a fine golf course, and really the only real "links" course around. First of all the people out there are friendly and helpful. Though the clubhouse is small, a new one is in the works. The course itself is not easy. There is a good variety of holes that make you use all of the clubs in your bag. The par 3's are tough, and the par 5's long but reachable by the big hitters. There are a number of water hazards that come into play, and of course , like any good links course, lots of fescue. The course is in good condition, and the greens are excellent - big and undulating. If you're looking for a good course to play, take the drive and play Kings Links; its worth the trip!

Full disclosure... this is my 'Home' course. Kings Links is distinguished as the ONLY links course in the Lower Mainland. It's only defenses are wind, the occasional bunker and golfers' egos (e.g. thinking they can fly it 240 yds over the hazard)... BTW..did I mention the fescue? This course is a ' bucket list' level course for any golfer worth their salt because of the exquisite challenge it represents. The Greenskeeper is a golfer... like 'for real'. During his tenure, he's made the course increasingly more accessible for the average golfer while keeping it interesting and challenging for the better golfer. If you're interested in a memorable golfing experience, make your way to Ladner and play The Links. As an added bonus.remember to stand on the mound at the mid-back of #3 green. It's the highest point on the course and offers a 360 degree view. In a word... Spectacular!
