I grew up on Heather Beach! Every year from the time I was born till I was 13 years old my family and I spent the entire summer in Port Howe. We ran a bed & breakfast 5 minutes down the road from the beach & would spend most of our days there, building sandcastles and swimming in the warm little tide pools the waves would leave behind. You can see Blue Herron and Bald Eagles from time to time here, and there is always beautiful sea glass and hermit crabs lining the red clay sand.Super safe, never a riptide to worry about! Be prepared to relax here! Also, they have porto potties and showers here so you never have to worry about leaving early cause someone "had to go".If you're staying in the Pugwash/Port Howe area, you definitely have to make time to spend a day here!
