A very interesting museum that really showed me what life was like in the local area in the past. As a history buff this was a must and I wasn't disappointed.

I booked our tickets on line when purchasing tickets to see King Lear. The best $5 I ever spent. I thought we would be in and out in 20 minutes, we were there for over an hour. Something for everyone. We saw costumes worn by Maggie Smith, old printing presses that will be operational soon, vintage vehicles and fabulous displays. The manager even showed us some items not yet on display.

We love the old, classic style of this theater. It is very comfortable with no bad seats. The views from our balcony seats were excellent.

The Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival is one of the greatest attractions in North America. If you live anywhere in a day's drive from Stratford, and if you want to see superb theater, this is the place to go. Besides the festival, the city of Stratford has beautiful gardens, great restaurants, and the lovely Avon River with swans! The Stratford-Perth Museum is located just outside Stratford, and so most visitors don't even know it's there. However, it's definitely worth visiting. The museum contains items related to the festival, farm implements, propaganda posters from the "Great War," and a reconstructed kitchen. It's clean and bright. Everything is well-labeled. Staff are gracious and friendly. If you're at the festival, don't miss this museum. If you're close (Kitchener or Waterloo) it's worth the trip. It's a great regional museum. If you're interested in local history, allow a half-day. Otherwise, you can see quite a bit in two hours. Visit--you won't be sorry.

The museum is a fine introduction to the county's history. There is a special section on the armed services sacrifices made and is well presented. The section on propaganda is very good. The Festival a Theater section was smaller than I hoped.

Went to see the Stratford Festival exhibit there and it was great. But I found the rest of the museum fascinating too! Go see their fire engines and the Brooks Steam Car - what a great surprise and very informative - the room with all the kitchen items from the past is amazing too.

Come to the Stratford-Perth museum, out of the way of the town of Stratford a mile or two down the road. See theater costumes...farming equipment....propaganda posters...fire trucks...Victorian-era kitchens...historical documents...on and on it goes, rambling through a large house and addition. We'd lost our tickets, pre-purchased, but the lovely young woman at the door didn't care -- she let us in anyway. A great way to spend part of an afternoon in Stratford, particularly if it's raining or you're just tired of ye olde Shakespeare. Nothing fancy. Just entirely, totally Canadian.

This museum covers a range of subjects -- Stratford Shakespearean Festival history, costumes, et cetera, local history and artifacts from earlier times, an exhibit of propaganda from various nations in WWII, et cetera. Well worth a visit.

Exhibits were quite interesting, particularly the quilts. Much more on the inside than appears from the outside. Didn't see any information about the building itself.
