If you want to see the reptiles of the america's this is the place to go. Educational, and enjoyable. LOOK FOR THE SPECIAL ACTIVE DINOSAUR DISPLAY when it is available.

If you are in the vicinity, then you must not leave the place without visiting the Indian River Reptile Zoo. Its a nice place for kids and they will enjoy the trip. We had other places to visit as well and this was one of the stops we made at Peterborough.

Took our grandchildren ages 4 and 7. They loved the animated dinosaurs - specially the one that squirted water at them. The snakes, tortoises and crocs were a big hit too.

I never thought I would visit a reptile zoo but you know, we all can learn about what we don't know or understand. The Indian River Reptile Zoo. is a great place to go and learn about the reptiles of the world starting with the dinosaurs. It is not a hands on zoo but we did get to handle a Boa Constrictor. From snakes to turtles, alligators and crocodiles, they have them all and it is a real experience to be that close to these creatures. there is only glass separating you from venomous snakes and very toothy Alligators and Crocs. Will be returning again next year to see these creatures and reinforce the respect I have for them now.

I recently visited the Indian River Reptile Zoo with the family and I have to say its certainly not worth the $20for each adult to get in.Don't get me wrong the place is great for younger ones. Our little guys had fun and their is some interesting things to see.The facility is clean and well organized and the gift shop surprisingly is affordable. But you cannot or I at least cannot see how the price of admission is worth it.The Dinosaur exhibit is OK they are very realistic looking but there was not as many as I expected.Younger kids will also love the large slide that is offered on site and the sandboxes where they can dig out replica dinosaur skeletons. The indoor exhibits as already reviewed are neat to look at but very tight.

Went to see the Dinosaurs Roar 2014 at the Indian River Reptile Zoo. This place is awesome. Inside they have snakes and crocodiles and alligators, turtles, so much fun and a 20 minute very informative show where you can touch a snake! I learned lots of things today that I as an adult did not know. The staff is beyond helpful. Walking around handing out umbrellas as we had some rain. People who travel from overseas to our area always go to see attractions in Toronto. But seriously this is in Indian River just a few minutes outside of Peterborough. The Dinosaurs Roar brings life size dinosaurs that move and make noises and one even spits at you!! I am a grandma and I think I had as much fun as my granddaughter!! I was first to stand up to touch the snake at the show! There is also a souvenir shop with many excellent priced items. Very reasonable. The walk is not long at all and they have wheelchairs. This has been one of the best attractions I have been to. MUST SEE. The Dinosaurs Roar exhibit will only be here until Sept 2 2014.

Went to spend some time with the family. It was a great time not alot of walking and tons of animals to see close up. Both my sons loved it. The moving roaring robotic models were awesome and real life. My oldest son so excited to go but was scared to death walking through. The staff was young but know everything about the animals and can answer any questions asked. There are alot of people working around the zoo and so friendly and always offering help.We will be back.

Went here because of the dinosaurs exhibit mainly. The reptiles exhibit was tightly packed, was really disappointing. The only good thing was the dinosaurs. But not worth the price.

Our visit to this zoo was quite enjoyable but honestly this attraction is geared squarely at the very young crowd. It's quite interesting to the whole family but the price tag is a bit steep for adults with no great passion for reptiles. Having said that, I still think it is worth the visit, at least once!

Very interesting to be able to see an alligator, crocodile & giant tortoises up close...and lots of other smaller turtles, snakes etc. Expensive - about $20 each for adults....but it's somewhat of a rescue operation, as they take animals that zoos etc can't keep. Gift shop was outstanding - I'd dare any kid to not find something they didn't just 'have' to have for under $10.

Deceivingly small at first but catches one by surprise easy to spend a few hours here and you learn lots about reptiles

This is a great place to take young children to introduce them to reptiles. The staff are amazing with the kids. Not recommended for just adults or possibly teens. This is more geared to small children

Took our 2 grandsons (aged 5 & 3 ) to this exhibit. Terrific hands on experience! The dinosaur show was an added attraction. Will return again.

We stay in Key Largo every year and this Zoo hit the news like wildfire - saved a man's life with the anti-venom for the bite. Only place they could find it. Our friends kept coming over and saying "did you hear?" "you live in PTBO, right?". I've been to the zoo and found it to be very interactive as long as you take the time to read - mind you my husband stayed outside - he's afraid of snakes.
