The class really enjoyed themselves. Parents were also encouraged to participate. The instruction was good and safety procedures were in place.

My sons have been here a couple times and while climbing is fun the place is so run down and worn out (beat up paint, stained, patched pads for safety) that it's really grubby inside. This is not a cheap adventure too and if you're not ready to belay your own kids then often not enough staff to let your kids climb if you take more than one or two.

Excellent climbing gym, wonderful experience every time. Staff are very well educated, experienced with rock climbing, and friendly. Not just the staff but also the patrons are friendly here and it makes the experience that much better - often people are swapping tips in the bouldering room and jokes are passed along in the main room. The upkeep is great, facility is clean, routes change about every month and there's always something new and challenging. I've seen a huge range of people in here and rock climbing is for everyone, especially at Rock and Rope. Many programs exist too like after school stuff and there's often deals on shoes if you keep your eye open. Never had a safety concern either, the staff are well trained and they make sure participants are too.

I visited this evening with my two children to check out whether their after school climbing program would be a fit for my boys. One has Aspergers and the other ADHD and high anxiety. They let both the boys try out the bouldering and the roped climbs. They were caring, patient and knowledgeable. Luis, one of the instructors, was exceptional with my autistic son and the owner (Wayne ) worked so well with my younger son - really helping him to get past some of his fears. We will definitely be enrolling! What a wonderful opportunity for them to have fun, get some exercise, hone their problem solving skills and build self esteem and confidence. Two thumbs up!

I took a group of young teenagers here for a team building exercise and it was awesome. They learned to belay each other and really trust each other. The staff was patient and knowledgeable. The kids felt really confident in their abilities by the end of the day. The walls were categorized which helped our learning and our experienced figure out which walls to try. Really great!

This is a great little climbing gym, whether you are an avid climber, a beginner or a parent with kids. They have a bouldering room and many top-rope climbs ranging from beginning to expert. The place obviously draws in the climbers from the area, but is it also a great place for class trips, birthday parties or for friends to hang out or try climbing for the first time. They rent the climbing gear or you can bring your own. Remember to bring a helmet for kids and indoor shoes to wear around in between climbs. Climb on!

This is an awesome climbing gym with a range of routes from beginner to insanely hard. There are a good number of routes for each skill level and they change them every month and have a good amount of features to keep things interesting. There is also a cave that you can bolder (go without ropes) and routes specifically designed for children, keeping in mind that they have a shorter reach. The prices are reasonable and the staff is always really friendly. You can defiantly spend a few hours here, but i would recommend bringing a buddy or two!

We have held a few birthday parties at Rock and Rope and we have been to a few as well! The staff there are courteous and helpful and I feel very confident in the safety measures that are in place for kids. There isn't a huge place for the kids to sit and eat-you wouldn't want to take more than a half dozen kids, but the facility is clean and bright. The kids love the bouldering cave and there were different levels of challenging walls but something for every athletic level!

Great little gym and gym community. Smaller walls than Toronto gyms but well rated (up to 5.11c last i checked). I've been a few times without a partner and there's always someone willing to belay although it's never too busy to find an open climb. Larger bouldering cave as well. Reasonable rates and rentals.
