Being new to the area, we thought we'd check the local museum to get some history of Wallaceburg. We were not disappointed! The place goes on and on and features some very good displays of the local history. We certainly learned a lot. I've been back twice since and discovered things I hadn't seen the previous visits.

If your in Wallaceburg it would be worth your while to drop in and view the exhibits and mock-ups of Wallaceburg's past. You quickly learn to appreciate the manner in which industries were built through the dedication and financial support of the residents which is evident today. For a mere $2.00 (well spent) leads you through 3 levels covering the glass works, brass and canning industries from their initial start-up, successful economic stature, and the eventual disappearance. A excellent mock-up of downtown is on the upper level and leads you through the town shops as they were decades ago. Also for the feint of heart a Halloween event is occuring in the basement on the 18th and 25th.
