The Sunday brunch is awesome. Great food. Great service. Pleasant atmosphere. The buffet has a good variety and the desserts are to die for.

I haven't played the course (not good enough to spend that much on golf) but I have attended clinics for myself and my daughter. It is well worth it. The professionals are excellent and we learned so much!

The clubhouse affords a great view over the course, and they have a separate patio area for summer functions which can be partially covered. Really great staff and lovely event every year. PLUS I know my family loves golfing here because it's where they host their yearly charity tournament.

Played here on Saturday of labour day weekend and all I can say is that Im glad we didn't pay full price for this course. We ended up winning a foursome here from a silent auction at a tournament in Huntsville (Grandview Golf Club which is way better than the abbey). I think full price on weekend is like 265$, what a joke! The greens needed cut and were soooo slow I couldn't believe it. Plus they were constantly bugging us to hurry up so they could squeeze on as many people as possible before darkness. That's not our problem to hurry our game so they can soak more people into paying the outrageous green fees....

I finally played the Abbey after watching a number of Canadian Opens at the Abbey in the 80's and 90's. I must say I was disappointed and the course did not live up to the hype. For the most part the course was in good condition and well maintained. except for the bunkers. The sand was brutal and they hadn't been raked. My buddy even hit the plastic lining when hitting out of one bunker. We were lucky that we didn't pay the full price for our round of golf. There are a lot better courses for the money and I won't be coming back.

If Glenn Abbey is going to host the 2015 Cdn Open they have a lot of work to do. Everything from the practice area to the greens to the fairways are in poor condition. Seems that in the last 5 years since I was there its really turned into an average course. If not for the valley holes it would be pretty mundane. I know it gets a lot of play but it seems that Clublink is using it as cash cow but not re-investing in maintenance. Lots of other superior courses in the area now.

Golf ok as is the food. I have been a few times although on the last visit the service was poor. Our other visit though have been good.

For a course that has hosted the Canadian Open I am disappointed that this course is just a little too straightforward. That is just my opinion but there are many other courses I prefer.

Can't believe how this course has deteriorated over the years since under Clublink control. Granted the greens had been top-dressed but they still were in horrible condition. Fairways were in brutal condition. I played this course during its heyday in the 90's and it was a treat at that time.As a previous reviewer said, "the jewel has been turned to a lump of coal". For a better golf experience go up the road to Piper's Heath, and for a lot less money

Dunno how my previous post ended up giving only a 2 star rating. I meant for it to be a 4 star. I am done. The end.

I recently received an invitation from a friend to join his group in an informal tournament at Oakvilles Glen Abbey Golf Club and of course, I JUMPED at the chance to play the Abbey, Crown Jewel in Canada's Golf crown and the 'Home of the Canadian Open'. I had played Glen Abbey many times in the 1990's and early 2000's in corporate golf events and was always hypnotized by the amazing condition it was in - perfect lightning-fast greens, gorgeous flat tee boxes, fairways trimmed down so close that you wanted to take 10 minutes to replace every blade of grass from your divot, and unbelievable white-sand bunkers. Having seen this beauty on television dozens of times, it never let me down.Until last Friday, that is.Glen Abbey has been turned into a second-rate public pay-as-you-play golf course. The greens are soft and spongy and arent cut nor sanded properly - they're full of ball marks and dead sections and in many cases you almost want to institute a 2 putt rule. The tee boxes are about the only thing that passes muster as they seemed to be in pretty good condition and remain properly aimed and flat. The fairways are soft, spongy and in poor condition. There's a very rough transition from fairway to rough, so much so that in some instances you don't know if you're on fairway or rough! The cross cutting is gone and there's huge wads of dead grass clippings on both the fairways and rough. And the bunkers....HARD as clay, sandless and all the sand that is present is of a brown sandbox consistency. What a major disappointment.... it's now come to pass that you have a better chance to play a beautifully manicured golf course if you carefully select a good local semi-private course....and you can also bet that the Rates at that semi-private track will not exceed $200.00+ ...yup....$200.00+ to play a hollow memory of a once-great course. I never thought that the day would come when I said this, much less wrote it down in a review, but if you have a chance to play Glen Abbey - grab your money and find somewhere else to go. I'm so sorry to have to report it this way, but we've lost our Crown Jewel.....and as I refer to above...it's turned into a lump of VERY expensive coal.

Very nice venue. Open air under tent wedding and reception. Wow the food was good. Everything there, easy, and staff wants everything to work out.

love this place and especially the Sunday brunches - have enjoyed many celebrations over the years - reasonably priced and great food - a nice place to take out of town guests

We love Glen Abbey Golf Club. It is always a treat to have a wonderful round of golf and some great food after. Well maintained, world recognized and wonderful to play.

I do not golf, but have been to Glen Abbey several times over the past few years for their marvellous weekend brunches. They are your typical splurge meals with every sort of dish available. The extremely wide variety is always tasty and all staff seem to be on their 'A' game--never have my family and I encountered a less-than-competent staffer in any regard. It is easy to eat too much here! Its a toney club but does not seem to feel overly snooty. We have rented the banquet room for a anniversary party. Great for birthdays, holidays and special occasions. I am done. The end.
