The buffet was great. The shrimp were tasty and my children loved the variety. Every trip I make during the summer always includes this Saturday evening of fun and food. Hitting the High Five made the night well worth it.

Fun night of horse racing, wings and a beer (or two). We like to bet small amounts to stay engaged in the racing, often betting on colours or names of horses - $2 to $5 show bets. If we walk away losing a few dollars it's no big deal - this night we won $10. It''s entertainment and the food is good (not great, but not bad). Parking is free and of course there are the slots (which we never do).

Too much fun at the casino and great music playing! I won $50 on a penny slot machine called Star Wars Trilogy. Love visiting here! The restaurant has great food as well, especially their club house sandwich. Yum! :P :D

Great entertainment location - unfortunately, neither the track nor casino gods were with us on this night as we did not win any jackpots but overall, great fun - one thing to note - the AC at the Casino was going full blast on what was a hot humid day - some might want a sweater

This is a good place to go for a fun night out. The staff are friendly and helpful and non-judgmental if you place a simple $2.00 bet. The food that is available is just ordinary, unless you eat at the Terrace Buffet in which case the buffet is excellent. Know your limit - set a given amount to bet, and enjoy yourself. It can be cheaper than going to the movies if you don't wager a lot, and it's more fun.

We do not typically go to the racetrack, however we visited Mohawk to see the special undersaddle exhibition of the Standardbreds and watch a few races. A friend recommended the trackside grille. Even though we were greeted immediately and shown to a table, it took about 30 minutes to get service (we finally got our own drinks at the bar). Eventually we got a greek salad (which was actually quite good), but our waitress was nowhere to be found when we were ready to leave. frustrating. We stayed til almost the last race waiting to catch a glimpse of her. I'm sure it was hard on all the staff as they were either running from table to table short of breath when they took your order, or elsewhere trying to keep up. Not good.

Had noticed significantly fewer people each year at this place( and way fewer wins) .Last month, one lady told me a security person said " They were lined up out the door when we first opened." So now I guess they have to squeeze more money out of far fewer people. No kidding. Going to avoid horse based casinos- they don't give back at all. Niagara, here I come. At least, a free dinner or show is in the offering there.

Mohawk is a fantastic track. One of the best in the world. The best in Canada. Finally i went there. Too early maybe (May). You should go there in the summertime and definately in June (Grand Circuit) when the best horses in North America are there.I was in 'awe', just like i imagined it.The staff is great. Facilities flawless. We are talking racetrack here, not casino. I have no idea what the casino is like, since i hate casinos.

Lights, noise and a constant hum. Just like any OLG slots. If in the area give it a visit if you are into slots. The horses were not running. For a meal go to the Mohawk Inn Chop House next door.

A beer, some wings and some gambling - can it get better than that. Wings were good (not great but not poor) - my wife thought hers were too spicy but I thought they were just right. Beer was cold, service was good and the horses kept us engaged.

Mohawk has a good location in the GTA area and is central to many different cities. It's easy enough to get to it right off the highway. We ate at the cafetiera inside the casino and the food was okay. Value of food versus price was pretty average. About 8-10 bucks a meal The buffet is much better. Did not enjoy the slot machines there. Too many squished in the large slot area. I much prefer Flamboro Downs.

Had a good time. Avoid the food sat outside and the service took forever. 25 minutes just to order a daiquiri. When I finally ordered food it was mediocre at most.

Most of the people who work at Mohawk are not friendly, in fact I find them miserable. They don't even smile. They do take the fun out of being there.

My wife and I like to go at least one time each summer. We like to sit up in the Terrace Dining Room and have the buffet dinner.($27 during the week and $35 on the week end) We like to sit along the finish line. You have a screen at the table so you can see the race from start to finnish. We make a small wager on each race just to add to the fun.A free program is given to you when you have the buffet dinner. Sometimes for the last couple of races we go down to the track side and you get a better feel for the power of the horses. We always have a great night. There are slots available too.

I won the progressive on 5 cents Quick Hits as you enter the casino from the Guest Services lobby. After years of ups & downs - win/lose - I finally hit a jackpot. Now... I'm a believer that the machines do pay out. ( I had often wondered about the huge payouts really being won ). The money's all gone now after more than a year, however, I had the time of my life with travel - shopping & spoiling family/friends.I don't recommend their cafeteria style restaurant. It's ok for soup & sandwich but the hot meals have been a disappointed to me when I've had them. Service is friendly & efficient in the gaming room. Remember: Play to within your limits!Had to select APR 2013 as when my visit was - because it didn't go as far back as March 2012 is the last time I went to Mohawk! Planning to return soon... p.s. just read another review about not being allowed to watch players - and here I am telling them to get a private room should they turn & look @ me negatively! lol
