south buxton raceway

This was our first visit to the South Buxton Raceway and it was on a Sat. evening. This particular date of Aug. 9 was half price night which included free bags of popcorn and jumbo hotdogs for $1,00. With the $5.00 admission charge for seniors we felt this was a great deal. There is plenty of parking and seating is in the grandstand style and lots of room for all. I must warn you that the noise level is high, the excitement makes you hair stand on end and the mud will fly. There are various levels of the type of stock cars from small and slow that are raced on an inside track with younger drivers and the outside main track for the big boys with cars going well over 100 mph. The race starts at 7:00 pm and sometimes end around 11:00 depending on the number of crashes, etc. We had 12 members of our family together and this was special at any time.
