This is a most unusual historic site being an old railway car that once thundered the rails of Northern Ontario bring the kernel of education to so many who would otherwise have missed the educational opportunity. Absolutely worth the visit especially if you consider how easy it has become--by comparison--to obtain an education in Ontario to-day. Great displays and friendly volunteer hosts.

the School House on Wheels in Clinton is a wonderful trip down memory lane and a useful way to show young children how different life was in the last century. Imagine the teacher, his wife and 5 children all living on the railcar during the school year. you have to see Mrs Slomans Closet! there are tables nearby for a picnic and Clinton is not far from Lake Huron, so take the weekend and go west to Huron County Ontario we attended a lovely wedding in the adjacent park, the bride was a teacher and wanted to get married in the gazebo in the School House park Hensall Traveller

Fascinating to see how the teacher & family lived, how kids 'in the bush' managed to get their education.A DVD is shown and is available for sale.Kids can see and (respectfully) touch, no cordoned off displays here.

History & choo choo buffs are sure to enjoy this little car of Canadiana nestled alongside the Bayfield River in the Town of Clinton. The car is all volunteer-run and features accoutrements from a local family's adventures on the rails as the patriarch, Fred Sloman, took on the task of educating children of Ontario's Far North.

A nice walk back in time. Only takes half hour to go throough if you just look but longer if you ask questions. took family there and older members who lived in Caperol remember the train going through. a must to keep . support this exhibit.
