This gym is by far the best gym I've been to in the last four years. I am not great by any means but I don't feel scrutinized by anyone. Everyone has been really cool and friendly. The runs have been challenging and it is definitely a very safe atmosphere. I would recommend going during the day or before 5pm, Friday night or Saturday day before it gets too busy. Thanks Grotto!

Climbing in a controlled environment is a great introduction to rock climbing. Lots of different walls, instructors focus on safety, padded floors prevent injury. Reasonably priced.

I tried rockclimbing for the first time and was not disappointed. Both staff and fellow rockclimbers were so friendly and supportive. It feels like a family (without all the dysfunction!). Very clean, easy to find, lots of parking and various levels of skill walls. I couldn't believe the age variation: from young children to people in their 70's and everyone got along just great! Not overcrowded and really quite fun. I would do it again!

I was so pleased with the staff at the Grotto. They were incredibly helpful and positive with the kids. There was very little waiting -- a full hour of climbing ( for 9 kids ) -- after which they were wiped!! I love that there are several automatic belay machines and lots of 'bouldering' - where you don't need ropes to climb. We all walked to the park (along the river) nearby for cake and running around. Highly recommended. Only downside was that grandparents weren't allowed on the floor to watch the kids.

We had a birthday party for 6 kids (aged 8-10) and had a great experience. All of the staff were very friendly and great with the kids. An hour of climbing was more than enough, followed by lunch in the party room. We brought a fruit and veggie plate and cake to accompany the pizza and juice that were provided. Great experience overall. A different experience for active and adventurous kids!

Took my husband and 6 year old daughter for an hour of fun. Thought my daughter will enjoy it, but it was the husband who loved it. Maybe it is early for a 6 year old to start, but if you want to give your husband a good surprise present, this is the place to go.

When I went to this venue the staff front desk was not present, their staff numbers were limited, below 18 years of age and rather teenage rude. During a belay check of another climber I volunteered to climb the check by staff during the lower did not hold the life line and I was nearly dropped to the floor. Holding the life line is standard during a belay check. DO NOT CLIMB HEREThe venue is older, small in side and hardly cleaned at the time. WARNING : Do not trust their locker on the belay devices they are auto locking but jam open and should without any promoting close. Check the auto lockers as if you would check a non auto locker. I reported the issue the staff More adult staff and they said it was fine. auto lockers that don't lock are NOT fine.Avoid the gym, do not attend, the second most unsafe gym i have attended in 30 years of climbing.

It was our firt time there and my first time rock climbing. Staff was excellent, friendly, helpful and thorough. It's a fun spot with excellent rock climbing facilities for beginners to what appeared to be excellent for even advanced climbers (obv we wouldn't know though haha). Thanks for the fun! S
