Caves easy to walk round. Guide very good and informative ( we did go round same time as a school group , so might have got extra statistics!) Not wildly exciting but bats were interesting. A pleasent hour or so.

An interesting tour of limestone caves elevated from the ocean's floor by natural volcanic action and then used over time by humans for both good and bad. Our tour guide provided an interesting and amusing history of caves while pointing-out key features and inhabitants during the 1-2 hour walk. We covered a very small section of the estimated 28 square miles of caves not yet fully mapped...hmmmm, what else could be lurking deeper in dem dar caverns!?!The Grotto is further evidence of Nature's ability to create beautiful sculptures of stalactites, stalagmites, uncanny resemblances to an outline of the map of Jamaica or a famous movie emblem, or just the raw brute power to lift an ocean floor above water exposing its handiwork including fossilized outcrops of coral, etc. Luckily, some of Nature's finest handiworks take time to complete, versus some of Her more catastrophic displays.Within a few miles on either side of the Grotto Caves is Christopher Columbus' landing site in 1494 at Discovery Bay, as well as Ian Flemings old abode where he crafted several 007 movies, including a scene in the Caves. There is even an assertion that this might be the location of Batman's bat cave but you judge for yourself by the evidence of the bat sign during the tour!?!The tour is an interesting walkabout mostly on paved walkways, with varying heights of Nature's carved hallways with one requiring to be on all fours through a limbo hole! The steepest set of spiralling stairs is 65 down and then back up. Good walking/running shoes are recommended and hard hats are provided on site for those low headways. Enjoy but don't spook the bats and look up with your mouth open or it could be a yucky experience!

Our group of 6 adults & 2 kids toured the caves on our trip to Jamaica. Our tour guide was funny and shared lots of interesting history. We went first thing in the morning and were the only tourists there. The kids had fun finding shadow shapes with the flashlight. The caves are beautiful. Good tour for a rainy day too.

Nevertheless, the Green Grotto is most definetly worth a visit. The staff are very helpful and make the experience amusing with lots of stories and non stop interaction with all the visitors. Not too strenuous, a few steep steps, but most people should cope.

The caves are beautiful and we appreciated our very funny, articulate, tour guide. Definitely worth a visit.

If your looking for something quick and cool to do this is it. Its about a 45 min tour threw the caves while your guide explains the history. My husband and I really enjoyed all the different caves and their uniqueness. Our guide was great and funny. The coast was $20 a person. In my opinion worth it.

The cave tour was great. Our tour guide told us jokes and history the whole way - which kept it interesting and fun. It wasn't too physically demanding either so even small kids could come and enjoy it. The views were beautiful as there were also large opening that let in sunlight and large trees growing up. The actual history of the caves was fantastic I had no idea. I don't' want to give any of the surprises away - but I will stay it's worth a day trip for go check them out. Also it felt very safe, i was never worried about anything wail i was there.

We did this as a Cruise Excursion. Loved the guide and how much knowledge they provide. There is a lot of walking and stairs so just be prepared. Finishing the tour off with a Rum Punch was an added bonus!

We arrived at 0900 and were the first. We had a guide just for the two of us so were able to take in a lot of info. As we exited, there was a large group from a cruise ship so it might have been difficult to see/hear all of the details in a big crowd.

The guides give you an excellent tour and give you a lot of history about the area and the island. Loved it.

We stopped here on the way to Dunn River falls and were very surprised how nice they were. The guide did a really good job and we got a free punch at the end of the tour!

Super cool, loved the history and the beauty. One of the less expensive excursions, but so worth it.

We chose the green grotto caves & Dunn river falls excursion on the cruise ship. The caves were a very cool excursion, our guide was great, learned a lot about the history of the island and the caves. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes, there is a fair bit of walking and climbing very narrow stairs up & down. Would definitely recommend
