This is a beautiful place, very clean and well kept. The hike is a moderate level and the walk upstream is fun. Very few people when we visited on a holiday weekend. So worth the visit! The review provided by barndoors is extremely useful and right on with the directions. A must do!!!

This was a fun excursion. After a brief hike in during which you cross a river (babbling about 6 to 8 inches deep when we were there), you walk up stream in that river for ten minutes and come uPon a natural swimming pool and wonderful waterfall. It was a private paradise. The most difficult thing about this hike was getting there. The easiest way is to take 105 east through Marciano and at about kilometer 30 you will go over a small bridge. Directly after the bridge, make a right onto route 425 and take to end of paved road. Walk down hill to the right and cross the river. Keep left and continue walking Keep the river on your left. Soon you come to a house. Walk past the house and into the river. At this point, make left and go upstream. This is a fun excursion. Before you go, make sure it hasn't rained too hard as the character of the river could be different depending on the elements.

You will be amazed...and its almost for yourself!!! The water is very cold and you can camp nearby in Monte del Estado, a governmental site, with chimney and very rustic ( you have to bring linens).

We booked a tour through Rinconvacations.com for two families to do a hike to the waterfall. There were four adults and five kids--all under 6 years old, including my 2 year old daughter. The drive to the waterfall was the hardest part...twisty, windy, mountain roads for a little over an hour...a little tough on the kids in the back of the van. However, once we got there, the walk was an easy 20-25 minutes (even the kids did it mostly by themselves), beautiful in the forest, and the waterfall was amazing and we had it to ourselves. Much better than Las Minas waterfall in El Yunque. Our guide, Ramse, was excellent. He was very patient with the kids and has a true appreciation of the natural beauty of the place. He may have been there 100 times, but he seemed to be as awed as we were.
