Found on the south coast, directly beneath the Crane Resort. I say beneath because the resort is on a cliff and the beach is at the bottom of the cliff. If you are not staying at the hotel and are driving there, I recommend the following:I approached from the west and drove past the main entrance of the Crane Resort. I proceeded past Cutter of Barbados (which will be on your left side) and came to a roundabout. At this roundabout, go right and down a small street (Crane Beach Rd) until you pass between two residences. At the bottom of the street is a gated driveway on your right and a pathway to some rock on your left. Although you're going to be unsure if you can park here, go ahead and park. I got there early and was the first car so I turned around and faced up the hill to make it easy when I had to leave. As soon as you begin on the path, you'll be greeted by a guy selling coconuts with mixed drinks in them ($10 US a piece for them). I think it's a ripoff because the coconuts serve as the cups and mine was small and didn't hold much liquor. So take that into consideration. As you follow the steps down to the right, you'll cross over large rocks with flat tops to them that grant you access to the beach. However, be forewarned, this path that I have just described can only be accessed if you are that of an able bodied person. If you have difficulty walking or climbing, this is not the entrance for you. Upon arrival on the beach, which is not large, you will be approached by some guys who will want to rent you beach chairs ($20 US a pop). Just to make a comparison here, Dover beach is $2.50 US. I didn't know this until I got to Dover Beach the next day. The ripoff does not stop there. They charge $12.50 US for the same exact drink the guy at the top of the path was selling for $10 US. The beach itself is nice and the water is choppy, but you already know this because you're on the south coast. There's a little cliff lookout at the one end of the beach, which is by the elevator side of the beach. Climb up there and enjoy yourself for a few. Overall, the beach is nice but I enjoyed my time up in the resort more. I was also turned off by the amount of money they charged me while at the beach. You can take the elevator up to the resort area of Crane Resort. It's very beautiful up there and there are numerous pools. No one says anything as long as you look the part. At no point do they check you out or ask for credentials. We ended up eating at the carriage house. Some very good food with a beautiful view to boot.

It's a beautiful view and beach with soft sand. Surf a little rough since Barbados is surrounded by the Atlantic. I must say, I was a little disappointed since I had read it was rated one of the top beaches. I found Shoal Bay on Anguilla, Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos and Kua Bay on the Big Island far superior. But I still appreciate a pretty beach with great scenery.

We visited the Crane hotel for Sunday Gospel Brunch. The gospel singers were great! The breakfast was perfect with fresh fruit, cereal, breads and pastries, hot food and pancakes. The venue is perfect with lovely views and gorgeous hotel facilities. I am sure that a stay at the hotel would be quite a treat , but we could simply visit the hotel "village" and enjoy our short stay.

open to the public, clean courteous change room staff. Swim with the sea turtles when the catamarans bring the cruisers in. they feed the turtles; bring your snorkle

The colour of the sea here is fantastic -walk through the resort to look down on the beach from the cliff edge before you go onto the beach itself. If driving there you can park in the resort lot first before you drive down to the beach at the far end. The waves are big but not always ideal for body surfing -great for wave jumping though. If you are a non-swimmer I would not go in very far (or if you are pregnant or have little kids) as the waves can knock you around. We had a blast.

This was my first trip to the Caribbean and the beach exceeded my expectations for how beautiful the tropics can be.

Steep entrance to the beach, and stepping stone path over boulders. The beach was lovely clean and even had a vendor selling drinks. The sea was unbelievably blue, I could have sat for hours just staring at it. Lovely place well worth a visit.

Blue water and white/pink sand. You must go. Good waves for bodysurfing/bodyboard.Few options of public parking.

Beach is beautiful. The sand is soft, white & pink, & always cool at your feet. It's not crowded & it seems very private even though it's a public beach as is all beaches in Barbados. The waters are from the Atlantic side, so there are some waves which are definitely great for body surfing or boogie boarding. I was 6 months pregnant when I came here, and I would have preferred the calmer waters of the caribbean, but it was still really nice. Water is clear & has that beautiful blue & green hues. Only thing I hated was the seaweed that accumulates on the beach. I know they rake it off, but it still accumulates. They're strewn all over the water so it touches your skin when you're taking a dip. It's more annoying than anything. Also an eyesore. Bar & Grill located on the beach. Also some locals selling coconut water fresh in the coconut shell which was refreshing! Cutters restaurant is right nearby & they will deliver to the beach.

I keep coming back to this beach to enjoy the body surfing. The sand on this beach has a pink hue to it, and remains my favorite beach. I have been to Bondi Beach near Sydney, beaches in Maui and Hawaii, beaches in California, and the Panhandle of Florida, but the Crane beach remains number one.

Lovely beach to relax on! What a natural beauty. Not too crowded and lovely to be able to order food from The Crane beach bar.

Beautiful beach under cliffs. Access via stairs or elevator. Lounge chairs and refreshments available. No rest rooms at beach--must go to hotel on top of cliff. Atlantic surf can be rough--swim with caution.

The beach at the Crane is just beautiful. The white sand and ocean breeze make for a great day. There are no vendors in your face selling their wares. There is food and beverage available. The tide is strong so the life guards watch everyone in the water. The coral cliffs are beautiful. What a place for a walk. Unfortunate the seaweed has made its way to the shore. Still a beautiful place to be.

Juste arrived for a 17 day vacation at Crane Beach to find out that the beach is mostly covered with seaweed. Kind of ruins the experience for me. The seaweed is allo everywhere in the water, I could see it fromage the airplane when we landed. I hear that the problem is not found on the est coast. So beware...

looking forward to the boom being approved for deployment on the rare occasions that seaweed is present.
