punta frances marine national park

I think the day to avoid is Sunday as the Cruise liners come through then but the Dive boat goes out at 6am to avoid them so I believe!I think the dive sites are intresting although not crazy with fish life. The coral and underwater topography is for sure one of the most interesting and intact that I have ever seen. I did see Two Eagle Rays at distance which is something to be happy with!

We've been to Punta Frances as part of one of our dive days. We dove there and it's very nice, the cueva azul point is one of the best places, deep and beautiful. Also, the beach is completely empty, like a dream - no food, only coconut water - but some days are cruisers around and then it gets crowded, as people say. If you can, visit this piece of paradise.

As it is a national park, theres are no hotels, only a ranger station/museum and a few restaurants (which were closed at the time, I was there, so take food and drinks with you) and bathroom facilities. The only possibility to go there is with a diving boat, starting at the diving centre close to Hotel Colony. From Nueva Gerona take the bus or a taxi to Hotel Colony. It is the most beautiful beach on Isla the la Juventud and really worth a day trip. Most people go there for diving, but the beach itself is wonderful as well and you can do swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing.

Vous y serez seuls sauf en cas d'arrivée d'un bateau de croisière. La buvette n'est ouverte que lors du passage de ces bateaux de taille moyenne.
