Very nice bar with good prices and excellent atmosphere! Place was full, but staff were still friendly and a great added bonus that a percentage of the profits go to animal conservation - makes you want to drink even more of the tasty drinks..! Must see!

A nice bar with friendly staff, a good atmosphere and good drinks selection.On both occasions I went it was packed out, but getting served wasn't a problem.The price of the drinks is also very good, and a percentage of the profits goes to helping orangutans and sun bears.WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?!

Great vibe, great music, great people. This place is a great mix of locals, expats and tourists who know how to party!! The best thing is your money is going to a good cause supporting the local orangutan. Frequent art exhibitions upstairs and the change to smoke a bit of apple flavoured shisha are added extras that make this place my favourite in Kuching!

Brilliant place to go for a drink. Fairly quiet early evening,so you CAN sit and talk to each other, but livens up later and amazing atmosphere. Particularly buzzing at weekends. They're trying to get a smoothie bar going during the daytime, so call in then as well if you can and help them get it established. Volunteers Gavin, Angie and Mel, supported by great local staff, are currently working their socks off raising funds for Matang, so the more you drink, the more virtuous you can feel. Buckets of 6 bottles or cans are great value. There are also brilliant t-shirts for sale, again to support the sanctuary. Real mix of people using the bar which gives it such a great atmosphere. Plan is to extend upstairs and serve food as well. Good luck with it guys.

Fiona! You've said Monkeebar is amazing and awesome, yet you only gave us 3 stars! Why are you punishing the monkeys? :) You can make up for it by buying the most expensive drinks when you visit again

Beautiful bar with amazing decorations, friendly staff, a great selection of drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. Oh wait, but also, a third of the profits go to charity, and a fantastic charity at that. Head along to Monkeebar, talk to a few of the staff about the incredible conservation work being done, have a great night out and then head back again. It's what we did.
