Great setting by the lake and for sure the house really was more impressive when full of the original furniture. 30 pesos to get in. Again rooms filled with information on Marcos and what a wonderful person he was notice about Hawaii though.. House has great wooden floors and staircase was grand, could only imagine back in the day

This ancestral home of former Filipino President Ferdinand Marcos has beautifully furnished, spacious rooms that being open air are suited to the hot climate. Even on a very warm day the home maintained a cool temperature.The staircase, probably in local wood and the back porch are noteworthy as is the 16 seat dining table and the daughters' bedroom which I liked more than the matrimonial bedroom.The guard claimed that more than a million visitors take a look each year.Entrance fees for adults must have risen by 50 per cent on 1 January 2015 as they are now P30 not P20 as reported by a TA reviewer in November 2914. This still represents excellent value. There is a cafe and souvenir complex opposite the entrance gate while a small cafe on the ground floor sells Ilocos empanadas that are freshly cooked, along with drinks and pasubulong such as cookies.

The house was really huge but over looking a lake. It was very beautigul. You have to pay a minimal amount for entrance but atleast it is used to maintain the premisses.

Touring the official seat of government we heard was used frequently by then President Marcos, and why not, the wide and spacious rooms, the clean air, the beautiful lake view, will contribute to making the executive have the best environment for creative development. It is hoped that the local government can maintain this informative museum.

Touring Malacanang of the North, one can easily see why former dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his family would want to stay here. The furniture is a showcase of beautiful local furniture. It is also a lesson on how a huge space could be subdivided into private nooks and crannies perfect for all kinds of meetings. Plus, it is interesting to note the spartan look of former President Marcos’ bedroom versus the fancy boudoir of then First Lady Imelda Marcos.The piece de resistance of course is the view of the lake from the veranda of the second floor – impressive!

We visited this place because we wanted to make sure we will be making the most out of our vacation. Not a typical tourist spot everybody would love to visit but still worth visiting to know part of our history. It is a good place to learn more about the Marcos' and to see the overlooking beautiful man-made lake.Although you'll see some natural wear and tear, the house is relatively well maintained. Still worth the visit. Fee is Php20.00 (adult) and Php10.00 (child)

It's not something you'd visit every time you're in Ilocos, but if you have time to spare, why not? It's not very hard to get to the place; there are lots of signs that will point you there. It's a good place to learn more about the Marcos family and take photos at the beautiful lake behind the house. Great for kids who are learning about Philippine history!

Such a wonderful experience to visit Malacañang! I enjoyed the place with a tour guide telling marvelous projects and facts about Marcos' and his projects, Malacanang of the North, and the sceneries.

Captivating elements of this place show every inch of history and grace. Every rooms, displays artifacts and structures speak an eloquence of power and heroism...power for the Marcose's and heroism for people who sweat their tears and blood for building that beautiful ancestral house! The overlooking man made lake was breath taking and very relaxing. My siblings including myself, nieces and nephews adore the place very much and would love to go back again in the near future!

Because of all the stories, information and random jokes, a seemingly boring walk around turns into a trip through history. The guide will give you a closer look at who the Ilocanos are and who Ferdinand Marcos the man was.

If your an ordinary tourist, it may not interest you at all. It may only look like a huge ancestral house, with few old wooden furniture, that converted into a function venue for weddings and party. However, if you brought along some pieces of knowlege in Philippine history, you would appreciate the significance of the structure with the lives of Filipinos. For the Marcos Loyalist, it depicted the success of the Philippines during Ferdinand Marcos Regime as the house stood tall overviewing the vast river as its backdrop. However, for others, it portray extravagance in the expense of country's downfall. Here you can see the old golf course that turned into sheep yards. There is abandoned swimming pool and dilapidated tiles. Indeed, Malacanang of the North of the region. There is nothing much to see but you must have your picture be taken there so that people would know you have been to Ilocos NorteYou have to pay a small amount of entrance fee.

A must see for every Filipino I would think! There is so much history in this place and I love the way it was presented. I would recommend this any time.

I love the house!!! I can imagine how people lived there. It's grandiose and I love the view from the veranda, too.When it comes to memorabilia, don't expect to much. There's more at Marcos Museum and Mausoleum.
