If you're fit enough you can go through to the big cave from here. When we checked in at the tourist centre the guide looked at us and said that style of trip - not for seniors (us at 60-65 and fit ) so we did the pair of caves instead

It is a steep and treacherous climb down to the burial cave and the handrails run out before the end so be careful and make sure you have good grip footwear. This is a quirky and unusual place with wooden coffins stacked against the wall almost as if ghey are waiting for someone to come along and move them or bury them.

You will be welcomed with the coffins. The tour begins from here. Rituals be done by the guide. Please respect and do your share! There is no beauty inside when you expect of stalactites or stalagmites. Its beauty lies on the obstacles that you have to surpass in order to get to Sumaguing Cave. And this is where you can appreciate its worth as a spelunking area.I learned three rules here: 1) Be respectful to the traditions of the local people as they pay respect to their ancestors; 2) Wear suitable attire; 3) Listen intently to the instruction of the tour guide and don't be hard-headed especially if you're not a professional spelunker or you might fell down and smashed your self to death.Be cautious and enjoy the thrill!

But cool! As a fan of cultural and unusual places, I really like it. The cave itself is scary and beautiful at the same time. It's so close to the center of the city that it's worth a visit anyway once you are in Sagada.

This is a great starting point for the cave connection experience. The outside of the cave is just 1/10th of what you are supposed to experience if you get inside. Hire a local tour guide. It is a must since the descents and ascents can tend to be quite technical inside. A few adventures would be going in tight crevices, climbing up 90 degree openings, slippery rocks, and be prepared to get wet as you traverse the connection to the Porn cave. :P

As the title says, this is one of the top things to see in SAGADA.About 100 coffins are still there. Walking down there is easy, but getting back up is more difficult!

It was nice to see the coffins and skulls inside the cave. You will be educated with regards the tradition of the Saggas before. I not even afraid being inside a burial cave. We did the Lumiang-Sumaguing Cave Connections and our first trail is inside the Lumiang Cave. It was really a great extreme adventure! Unending trekking, rapelling, rock climbing, spelunking etc. Every hardship that we went thru in this cave is really worth it! We have fun and enjoy it. For those adventure seekers like me... try this activity when you go to Sagada! It's really an highlight! I'm proud to say we passed this adrenaline rush adventure! We make it! So your turn to try! Have fun!

This is a very interesting place to visit. You can use this as your starting point for a long cave tour or just visit to see the ancient wooden coffins stacked into the caves. The coffins hold the remains of locals. The coffins are small, as the deceased is tightly bound into a fetal position before they are placed in the coffins. The coffins are brought in first, then the bodies are carried to the location and placed into the coffins. Some the coffins have openings, and you can actually see the bones within...You need to walk down a hill and some stairs to get to the cave. Ask your guide to point out the hanging coffins on the cliff walls on the way down.

Solemn, quiet, and light. Those are the feelings it brought me when I went to Lumiang Cave. Here, where the remains of our ancestros were buried you will feel and appreciate the life of the Igorot people in the early days. That their love and respect to environment and to life in general is very evident and should be fortold.

This is the fourth time that I went inside this cave. Maybe because I'm with different group whenever I go inside that's why every visit is a different experience. This time I felt like I was the tour guide hahahaa.

There are some areas in lumiang that's a bit a technical but very manageable. the tour guides explained to us what should we do and not to do. It was fun and full of excitement.

I enjoyed Lumiang cave just as much as the other cave. The cave connection is a must try and be prepared to get wet!

This will challenge your physical and mental skills! One of the best activity that I've tried so far. This is so extreme but so fulfilling. Not for claustrophobic peeps!
