Anguib beach which is made famous by the recently concluded US Survivor-Cagayan, charges P100 per person as entrance fee. Just a stone's throw away, separated only by a low concrete fence, is an unnamed beach where one can enter for just P20. What is the difference between the two? Anguib still has the colorful (but rapidly fading) banners at the beach and the hut where the Survivor council meetings were filmed. It has better built and maintained huts and rooms where one can stay overnight. It is accessible by land, therefore one can bring a car to the privately-owned resort.The unnamed beach is right next to a small fishing community. One can buy the freshest crabs and fish straight from the sea. It has a few huts where one can set-up a picnic,a public unisex toilet and an area where campers can pitch tents.The beach has shallower shoreline, which during low tide makes it virtually impossible to do anything else except laze on the sand and chill. My verdict? I chose the unnamed beach because I knew that the entrance and hut rental fees I paid went straight to the local community and not just to an enterprising businessman. :-)

The serene version of Boracay located at the North! This place is perfect if you want to stay away from pollution, noise, work and even from people. We went here during the summer and still, it was like we owned the place. Perfect hideaway. :)

Anguib Beach has powdery soft white sand and shallow warm waters approximately 10meters away from shoreline. The place is not crowded and the pine trees are really complimenting the beautiful place. Not yet commercialized but it has entrance fee of php100 per person.There are cottages and food stalls, but haven't noticed rooms for overnight stay yet. Tents can do and the place is shaded.Kayaking is allowed. However, Anguib is only accessible now by boat. Hope next time we come back, the road will be already available as better option rather than thru boat. It was the roughest sailing ever we had to endure in less than 45minutes at past 12noon because the waves were getting rougher and rougher.We experienced the roller coaster at the sea.Thank God we're safe and it was fun though fearful. When we left Anguib, the boatmen told us that we would not be passing anymore the rough sea but the alternative mangrove and it is shorter and no waves to bear.it took us only less than 30minutes and the water was calm, clear and shallow. Overall, the experience is worthwhile, truly the Boracay of the North and we'll definitely come back.

Crystal clear and calm waters. Find white sand. Serenity of the surroundings. What more would you ask for? Anguib beach is a beach bummer's haven where everything is luxury is cheap.

This was our first stop in our island hopping. Yes it was a challenge going here because of the big waves, but we got to see a very big side of mangroves along the way.****The island hopping is quite expensive. We advised Arnulfo Peralta (the owner of the boat-also Jotay Resort's recommendation when you want to do island hopping) that we'll go to Anguib Beach and Palaui/Cape Engano (bec we want to do it halfday) and he still charged us with 3,500. WTH? He didnt advise us that this is a point-to-point destination. And the mangrove forest was the pathway in going to and from the beach, (dahil hindi namin sinabi na gusto namin makita, you wont introduce it to us. wow ha!).The beach is okay, white sand, although the surroundings--not really clean. People there advised that it's not peak season yet so they haven't cleaned the area. We were kind of irritated because this stop only lasted for at least 5-10 minutes (kesyo low tide daw, blah blah), and weren't able to enjoy it and even try walking on the beach front. There was a nice sandbar, but basically, it was not clean. It was beautiful, though. Sayang. :(

The first time i went here was summer 2011. I was stunned by the hidden beauty of this beach. The sand is very fine and white. It has a wide and long shoreline with great view. It's really a haven for beach lovers. The best part is the beach is unexploited yet. There are no man made disturbances. It's very natural, very quiet and serene. On 2011, the road going to Anguib beach was under construction but it's passable. On November 2012, we went back to Anguib but the road goes directly to Anguib was blocked and guarded by armies. We found out that the they are developing the place and was told that it's a private property already so we cananot pass. We were directed to other beach. I forgot the name of this beach but it's not like Anguib. They are developing the place too. There are accommodations, stores, bathroom facilities and people lives there. They will provide things and cook food for you for a minimal price. From this beach, we find our way going to Anguib which is very near, actually it's just in the the side of a hill. People can reach Anguib by walking from this beach and by boat from town.

It was after the training with my company that we ventured into this island. It's about 20mins away from the dock point. Though it's connected by land to the main island, the only means to go to it is by water due to some property policies.The water is so clear and so nice. The visibility is tremendously perfect. It's around 4 meters. The water is very warm as if you are taking a hot shower. Calm and peaceful. Aside from swimming and floating which you will enjoy, you can do KAYAKING in this area. Make sure to bring your own. Local fishermen that pack up the tour will bring the life jackets for you. More sunblocks and use rash guard btw.The beach is really nice. It's white but not as white as Boracay. Yet most parts are powdery too. There are a lot of trees where you can hang your hammock and read a book while drinking a juice. and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the mountain, ocean and islands. =)There is no electricity in the island by the way, so dont expect smoothies and shakes! Bring your juice and more ice. The island is only open until 5pm.. everyone else needs to go back before it. So be there early to maximize your time.You may bring your foods or else order before hand. The owner cook a very good BUTTERED TUNA. This region has a lot of watermelons so bring the sweet ones for snacks.There are no googles and fins to rent so bring them with you as well for you snorkeling.This is a perfect getaway in finding your soul. It's tranquil and beautiful that everything will be at your memory. =)

45 mins of gigantic waves in the open seas...at first we want a turnaround,its just so frightening with kids in tow but the skilled boatman assured us that it is normal and that not a boat ever capsized (wow what an assurance,lol) but the moment we caught glimpse of the white sands made the fright worth our while.it was a paradise,indeed...what with white, fine sands and crystal clear waters...no joke! it is really soooo clear. my kids enjoyed it much. its good we brought a lot of junkies for our picnic since there is no resto. just paid 100 for the entrance/environmental fee,no need to rent a cottage since the trees provided the shade we need and its not really hot in the area. i would recommend the boatman to everyone who plans on visiting Anguib,his name is Ferdinand or manong nanding,you may reach him thru his cp 09359966744.very nice fellow. he's sure to keep you safe and sound to and fro :))

Beach is perfect, no big waves, sand is golden brown.Everything is perfect for my family especially for my kids.The only thing that annoys me most are the rubbish left by irresponsible "tourist". I am sorry to say that "local/domestic tourist" are the main contributor of trash.Sad but true.I hope no one would build a "beach front resort".

so they say "Boracay of the North" white sand, crystal clear water and shallow at that. perfect for getting a tan. You can reach this place either by land (motorcycle) or by (Boat). i recommend you take the boat (1,700Php) and ask the boatman to bring you to the Mangroves - very nice mangrove forest but only accessible during high tide if you are lucky enough you'd catch a flock of birds fleeing at the sound of your boat.

Anguib beach is divided to a private and public portion. Both beaches are essentially the same, entrance fee is more expensive for the private side. The sand is fine and white. The water is shallow enough (3-4ft deep) for one to snorkel or walk up to about 20 meters away from the shore. There are pine trees along the shore making it different from the usual coconut trees. The place is clean and well maintained. One needs to take a 30minute boat ride from San Vicente pier to reach the beach. This is definitely worth a visit.

They say this is the Boracay of the North..I've never been to boracay so i'm not sure if it will justify the description.But i must say the beach was amazing... pristine beach..turquoise clear waters..not too crowded..white sand but not so white.We got there from our island hopping tour from Cape engano..most visitors got there by land. There are cottages on the beachfront i think entrance fee is 80PHP(2$) and cottages + food (lunch+snack) for 500PHP(11$)..with the all you can eat food..food was ok but there was a line up when you get there and at some point you have to wait because they run out...there is not really a beach resort in the area, its not commercialized so there is not much activities offered..also the washrooms/changerooms are so so..not made of concrete walls/doorsbut above all..anguib BEach is not bad.. :D

Sta. Ana has fascinating beaches. Most pristine beach is Anguib with its white fine sands and few pine trees in the area. Its clear blue water competes with Blue Lagoon of Ilocos Norte for the title of "Boracay of the North". It has an entrance fee of P80 per person, cottage for P500. They don't allow bringing in food so you'll be forced to buy in their store that offers snacks, drinks, and meals. No electricity there so no overnight staying is allowed. We also visited other beaches but because its too hot that day, many decided to enjoy those beaches which don't have entrance fees. All the cottages were occupied and the beach shore was already crowded. After the very rough seas, I told myself, this place better be good. And true enough it did not disappoint. As far as I remember, there is no resorts here yet. Those who plan to stay overnight should have tents with them as the only areas to rest are cottages which suits those on a picnic day tour.The sandbar is long enough and the trees add up to the beauty of the beach. While its sand is not as fine as the ones in Boracay and in Bantayan's Virgin Beach, the clear waters surely make up for all of this.Take note that there are two areas. One is privately owned, where you have to pay 50php per person (it may go as high as 500 person during the peak season!) and the public beach to the left of the privately owned one.
