是个天气好适合hiking的好地方,瀑布非常漂亮,只是有些垃圾,请记得要带走自己的垃圾,不要留在里面。

I have a friend who, when I bought her here, commented " if I was to die and come back as an orchid, this is where I would want to grow and bloom". Kind of said it all, thanks for the comment Marlis, you positioned it beautifully.

Bua Thong is hands down the most unique waterfalls I've experienced to date. It's a great afternoon getaway about 45 minutes by motorbike from Chiang Mai City. It's well worth seeking out. Bring your friends, some kanom and enjoy the afternoon climbing the waterfalls. Relax, cool off and climb! I lived in Chiang Mai for a year and returned to Bua Thong often. If you are motorbiking out, make sure you have legitimate directions. If memory serves:Take Highway 1001 all the way north (it's busy highway for a half-hour but then calms down to a quieter two-lane situation) at which point you will want to start paying attention to the white km markers on the side of the road. The falls are just after the 48 km marker and there's a sign for it. The road sort of curves to the left and you'll want to veer right. The actual sign is easy to miss but the turn off is pretty straightforward. Just pay attention to mile marker 48! See map link below. Have fun!!!!http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/26480258

This is a moderate hike and a great time meeting people going up and down the trail. There is a "pit-stop" our guide called "7-11" on the way up where you can get drinks, snacks and just rest a bit. We brought our lunch with us to eat at the falls but again there were drinks you could purchase when you arrived. I'm no spring chicken so I was gratified there were few older people on the trail because I was huffing and puffing on the way up. Our guide was very kind making sure we traversed the stream and tight trails on the hillside without mishap. I would recommend going to the falls but make sure you are physically able to do some moderate climbing and balancing on the way up and back down.

We went to the "sticky waterfall" yesterday (feb 7th) from chiang mai and it was definitly worth the trip. The surreal feeling of climbing the waterfall is so cool and unique. We had a little bit of a hard time finding it at first since we took the road 107 (super high way). If you are going by car or motorbike do take the 1001 road instead and continue on it all the way til you see a sign "bua thong waterfall", that's way easier.

We took a truck taxi out to the falls from downtown chiang mai. It took about 40min and cost about 1200baht roundtrip. It was so much fun. My 3 year old was fearlessly climbing up the waterfall. We saw crabs and lovely birds and butterflies. This waterfall was a real gem.

Such a nice way to cool off!! We walked quite a ways along the waterfall. There are some slippery spots! Nice hike and great scenery. Different pools to swim in.

We spent an afternoon visiting and climbing around the waterfall. Such a great novelty factor being able to climb so easily, although some sections were a little slippery when we were there and it was too dangerous to climb the whole thing from bottom to top. Was a lovely refreshing activity on a warm humid day, in the cool clear water.

This is maybe one of the coolest day trips in Chiang Mai (or, well, slightly outside it). Easy to find, beautiful location, and the most amazing waterfall ever. The waterfalls are coated in some sort of mineral that means you can walk UP the waterfalls. Not even exaggerating. You totally feel like spiderman.

We stopped off here, really without knowing much about the falls. But amazing, to be able to walk up the waterfall without slipping was absolutely amazing. Great adventure for kids (and adults) beautiful scenery. A must if you are that way.

Our family with four kids aged between 7 and 12 thoroughly enjoyed exploring these falls for a couple of hours. There are three levels, with beautiful bumpy rocks that have lots of calcium deposits so are mostly not slippery. Just watch out for the green parts up the top - a bit slippery. You can walk on the path when you have had enough of climbing. We loved climbing up and down though. We got really wet, and wished we had worn swimmers.

My tour guide took us to bua thong waterfall before leaving mae taeng for the day. We climbed part of the waterfall! As my country does not have natural adventurous fun like this, it was definitely exciting to climb up the waterfall. There's some algae on certain parts so be sure to avoid it if not you will just slip. There are ropes towards the top but its slippery with algae as well. I almost lost my balance and grazed my knee but no regrets doing this. If i go to chiang mai again, perhaps i would climb the entire waterfall. We were there in the evening so it was almost empty. According to my guide it's a place locals go to on weekends. Definitely recommend to visit.

The rich mineral deposits of the Bua Thong Waterfall are constantly leaving behind a hardened surface just right for you to climb up and down. Careful though, some spots are slick and you could really bust you butt on this thing! Best part is...it's free! Definitely fun for any age, though I would leave the climbing to the young or young at heart!

This is a wonderful day trip with the reward of sitting on a beautiful waterfall. Climbing is easy and safe due to the high limestone/calcium levels in the water. It calcifies on the cascading waterfalls and makes it quite easy to climb. Thats why the locals call it the "Sticky Falls".Caution: At the very top, or where there is slow water and shade, there is a bit of algae and slippery. Just make sure you stay in the fast flowing areas and you will be good. Sneakers and a swimming suit you don't mind wearing out is a good idea.Bring a mat and a lunch, though you gat get it all there too.

The limestone waterfall is the thing to see, walk down and climb back up. Not only is it great fun too climb, it's a darn sight easier to traverse than the marathon staircase on the return trip.Beautiful surroundings. We usually take our own lunch as there is limited food available there. Although in recent years a little 'coffee shop' of sorts has popped up and potato chips are always aplenty. Not full of tourists usually and is a local picnic area. Quite a long drive from Chiang Mai so anyone who suffers from car sickness may wish to grab the taxi's front seat.
