If you are in Dalhousie, don't miss this place! Dainkund is the highest peak in Dalhousie and there is a bit of trekking from where vehicles drop you to the top. At the top there is a temple of a Goddess and it takes about 15-30 min to reach there, depending upon your energy level; the views are to die for - you are compensated much more than the efforts. I did it with my parents, both above 60, so, you can understand it isn't that tough

Though we were little unfortunate that we visited this destination with fog but overall experience was good. We loved visiting and tracking. There is one temple at the top. Its awesome and scenic throughout tracking area. Half of the tracking is through rough roads and rest through unstructured stairs. Maggie stall at the top is worth to experience..Should be counted in top 5 places to visit at dalhousie..

Best part of it was trekking in snow clad mountains to the top where there was an ancient temple. We did not have proper boots hence struggled a bit in the snow

Nice climb and great experience. Wonderful to be there and great view and flowers. 1.5-2 KMs of climb and full of flowers (white flowers) makes it a lovely trekking and a Kali temple at the end.

Dainkund Peak is one of the famous places in Dalhousie Dalhousie is a gateway to the ancient Chamba Hill State, now Chamba District of the state of Himachal Pradesh of India. This hill region is a repository of ancient Hindu culture, art, temples, and handicrafts preserved under the longest-running single dynasty since the mid-6th century. Chamba is the hub of this culture. Bharmour, the ancient capital of this kingdom, is home to the Gaddi and Gujjar tribes and has 84 ancient temples dating from the 7th–10th century AD

Diankund is the highest mountain peak in Dalhousie and offers a panaromic view of Dalhousie, the Pir Panjal ranges, snow-capped peaks. It was so nice full of snow and the best view offered of the Dalhouise. Must Visit!!

It was one of the most exciting trek i have done. The dense fog and later a heavy shower, added to the thrill. It made the trekking fun filled. Scenic view, as you climb close to the templePS: do carry a water bottle and dont litter around the plastic trash

On the height of 13000 feets just a peak after that some temple about 1km, I think just waiste of time I don't like.

This is the highest peak in Dalhousie. You get a really scenic view of khajjiar meadows from this place. On a very clear day you can see Pir Panjal range. The trek around this place is very scenic. If you visit around June, this place is covered with wild white flowers. However, some people may face difficulty during climbing up and trekking around this place

Been there couple of times, its a very beautiful hilltop with scenic view of the valley and mountains around. The trek to the top is through narrow man made walkways, at times steep and rocky, but you will find beautiful colourful flowers along the route to the top. Not at a great height, so non regular trekkers also enjoy the walk.

Dainkund Peak by itself is offers a good view but it is highly recommended that you trek around 4 kms to the Kali Temple. Splendid views of snowclad Himalayas on the one side, and of the flower laden grassy meandering valleys on the other. Offers a view of Mount Kailash as well. The trek takes around 3 hours to the Kali temple and back. Wear trekking shoes, and leave old and the weak at the bottom of the peak because the trek may tire out the unaccustomed. Kids can manage the trek easily as my eight year old daughter did.

Dainkund peak is a beautiful natural place in clouds. You will feel so calm and in lap of nature when you reach the peak. However, you have to travel on feet to reach it but the way is comfortable and safe

Guides are available at the Dalhoussie market place. They do carry our water bottles etc. & take photos as well. What was surprising was our guide did not pester us as far as the shopping was concerned. He did not insist on any particular shop. He guided us to the market place & remained aloof when we went shopping. The Kala top sanctuary & Khajjiyar are two very scenic places near Dalhoussie. We could see the Pir Panjal mouatain range from Khajjiyar which is a plain ground surrounded by pine trees. A few adventure sports are also available at this place. Please bear in mind that, the entire Himachal Pradesh & Dalhoussie specifically have specific restrictions on usage of plastic bags. The offenders face a minimum penalty of Rs.300/- Even the car stereo is not allowed. The condition of the roads is very good but we could travel at 40 km/ph on an average due to the hilly region & fog.
