One should not miss this place in your Kerala Trip, not only Athirappilly but also " Vazhachal " where you can see wild beauty of the river. The road from chalakuddy itself wonderfull. It's advisable to carry your lunch box from City itself ,

The falls is a very famous shooting place and many directors recommends that place. But the place is actually more beautiful than its seen in the movies. Also the surrounding forest area is more attracting than the falls.

Every tourists must visit the Athirappilly and Vazhachal waterfalls. It will be an excellent experience. The tourisam department should make more fecilities for the visitors.

The waterfalls are magnificent . At the foot of the cascades you can feel the energy that embraces you from everywhere ; it is wonderful to share the experience not only with your family or friends but practically with everyone present there.

excellent place to visit, not for one or two times, but many times. Main attraction is that waterfall is not seasonal. It is active for 365 days. For senior citizen's it is very difficult to the upper side of waterfall. Authorities can do much more tourist attractions like cable car across the river...

its wonderful place to visit with your friends and families. you can also have good bath by following the instructions. once you visit there with kids you can also find 2 water theme park few km away from water fall or you can choose valaparai & sholayar root for experiencing a jungle trip and also to enjoy the nature.

It is the largest waterfall in Kerala and is nicknamed "The Niagara of India" Its about 80 ft waterfall and the nearby Vazhachal Falls are popular tourist destinations. The river initially runs smoothly but becomes more turbulent as it nears Athirappilly. At Athirappilly Falls, the water surges around big rocks and cascades down in three separate plumes.

It is really a worth enjoying. We love to get this place.Really a surprising and thrilling experience right from journey , stay, and waterfall.... very very big. However i believe that it can further be renovated for the traveler facilities and amenities. The area near the falling ground of waterfall can be made safe with well developed approach with beautification and platform to stay and enjoy from ground. But overall experience is really awesome, memorable for life.

Unless it is confirmed of the river being in its full glory, one should avoid this fall.At Least during the January month of our visit,it is far from the popular Indian Niagara Term. The climb from the main road, the descent to the base and the re climb are strictly not for the old and incapable.

Being from a town close to Athirapilly, this has been a hangout place for us a lot of times.Ezattumugam/Thumboormuzhi-Athirapilly falls- Charppa falls- VazhachalThis is the loop you can visit. If you can go further add up another 50 km to reach Valparai thorough the forest. The roads are once of the best roads for motorists.Tip: Best time to visit the place is always the rainy season, when the water drives down with great energy. Avoid visiting in summers.
