the oc bar & lounge

Just spent 2 relaxing days on Isla Grande on the Caribbean side of Panama. Isla Grande is a small (very small), fun, Panamanian resort town that is relaxing and a little rowdy at the same time (which is a hard mix to get right). The highlight of the trip was meeting and talking to the owners of 'The OC' bar, Yami and her brother Alejandro. Yami is escaping the Boston winters by running the bar, which is adjacant to her grandfathers hotel. The drinks were good, music fun and conversations great. There is also a big, round foating island attached to the dock to hang out on, listen to music and people watch. If you're looking for a low key, very casual and somewhat rustic place to unwind, check out Isle Grande. Then head to 'The OC' for cocktails and conversation (in English and Spanish!).
