Nice and fun hike. Take the public bus at one of the supermarkets and they will drop you off at the waterfalls. The hike in total is about three hours. 1.5 hrs to the third one and back 1.5 to the other two. Like mentioned in other reviews the last waterfall is a steeper a muddier. But actually quite fun.

You do NOT need a guide to do this waterfall hike. Take the bus up to Bajo Mono and there are signs to the Lost Waterfalls. There is a $5 entrance fee to the waterfalls, you can also purchase water, granola bars and candy bars. You are given an explanation and map of the hike. The man at the info center only spoke Spanish but still made it clear how the hike will go by pointing on the map. The first 2 waterfalls are pretty easy to get to. The path is quite uphill but well-maintained with railings. The 2nd and 3rd waterfalls are swimmable, but the water is coooold. The hike to the 3rd fall is a bit more difficult, requiring the use of ropes to climb and repel on the way down, but nothing that should deter you from the hike. The 3rd fall is very pretty. Take a camera, some lunch. It's a nice, worthwhile 2-3 hours to spend.

This hike was worth the time to do it. The trail was pretty muddy and steep but the views of the waterfalls were magnificent. If I were to do it again I would've gone a lot earlier to enjoy them more before the sun started to set at 5. There are some places where you have to cross water so if your main shoes are hiking boots I'd bring a pair of water shoes to change into for that part. We even got to see a quetzal on this hike which I'm told is very rare!

Interesting hike but really muddy. I never made it to the third waterfall since I was already ankle deep in mud.

Not easy ,quite challenging but well worth it ,3 waterfalls in total, went to 2 as the 3rd one is hard to get to,takes about 45 min to climb up there, some of us had a well erned dip in freezing cold water.

Very accessible and in a decent almost pristine condition, this 50 feet waterfall is a must stopover, on one of the roads close to Boquete Town you can drive directly into it without hiking, nearby is the river so you can take a quick dip if you so desire.Plenty of opportunities for selfies with the water goshing in your back.When it is sunny its absolutely marvelous, and its entirely free..

The trail starts out relatively well maintained & gets muddier & more strenuous with each waterfall. You don't need a guide to see the falls, but the path does become more challenging after the 1st falls - with some steep steps & slippery slopes as you approach the 3rd waterfall. If you visit the falls without being part of a guided tour, there's a $5 entrance fee - for trail maintenance, which is funny when you see the condition of the path! We hiked from waterfall 1 to number 3 & then back to number 2 - which is great if you think you might take a dip in the pool before the falls - which is easiest to access at the 2nd falls.

Wow. We booked this spot last minute before leavings Boca's and heading to Boquete on a whim. Not only did they pick us up from the bus stop to bring us up to the property, but they continued to help get us around the few days we were there. I feel so lucky so have ended up staying at this spot where 100+ people come a day to hike the waterfalls. The three falls are beautiful, and although the hike is muddy and sometimes took your hands to make it up and down certain areas, it totally added to the experience. The cabin was basically brand new, hand crafted with quality wood and comfy furniture, books to read and a makeshift kitchen. There is no power at the cabin! No wifi! So rad. It forced me to escape my emails and other phone obligations while I was out of service. Also, the view from the bathroom and shower is SO ACE. I was stunned when I woke up in the morning to pee... best.day.ever!!!! & People!! If you go here, pay the fee! There is so much upkeep to the property and $5 is more than far. Oh ya, also the cleanest bathroom in Panama :)

Need good footwear but otherwise pretty simple trail if you are relatively fit. Great pools for swimming at some of the waterfalls - very refreshing (if not a little chilly)! Countryside is absolutely stunning and peaceful - recommended trek.

We have hiked this trail three times and finally made it to the top (third) waterfall. It was well worth it. A little muddy along the way, but that is life. Something I will never forget.

Medium level hike but third waterfall was not accessible because of wet trail and a fallen tree. Be prepared for mud to get everywhere.

We did it with our kids, 9 and 11 years old, and it was great even if it was raining all the time but the information on the site about the time is not very accurate. It took us 3 hours and a half to do the 3 waterfalls. The trail needs some improvements especially when it’s raining and there is A LOT of mud. The trail to the last waterfall is the most difficult.

If you think you want to do this tour and it's the wet season - pack good hiking shoes you don't mind getting muddy! If you have trekking poles, they are not a bad idea. We made do with some sticks we found along the way, but trekking poles would have been great. Regardless - make the trip! The falls are beautiful and the hike is fantastic of itself!

I love hiking and it was worth the mud and steep hills to see all 3 waterfalls. Nice excursion and great guide.
