This is a popular attraction that seemingly everyone has to take a photo with - yes, I did too - but it is just a yellow arch that covers the street. It's in a ritzier part of town and the restaurants in this area are much pricier than if you find a local comedor.

On my most recent visit to Antigua I walked under the Arco de Santa Catalina a couple of times going from La Merced to Parquet Central and back. It is a beautiful arch that makes an iconic photo when you frame Agua Volcano in the arch. I don't get tired of seeing it on my visits to Antigua.

A really good landmark to help find your way around town. Beautiful architecture. A must see while staying in Antigua. Lots of nice photo ops.

The place is very nice and once again, not great food, but okay, but overall service and location very nice. Quite a few good places to go nearby and in walking distance. so, I assume they are speaking of the hotel near the Arc, where I have stayed a few times and enjoyed.

The arch is one of the iconic symbols of Antigua. The history of it is interesting. Musicians are usually playing on the street. The entire street from the square to the arch is a fun place to walk.

The Arco de Santa Catarina is right on the center of the city. It is an interesting and very caracteristic place.

This is iconic. Most of Guatemala's pictures are from Antigua. Most of them are of the volcano or the Arch.

This is a nice arc from colonial times, just in the center of Antigua. You cannot miss it, so you WILL see it. It is also a central point for performances e.g of local dance groups or Marimba musicians. Like in all tourist-crowded places: Watch out for pickpockets. And don't buy souvenirs in the nearby shops, they are all over-priced.

We booked a trip to Antigua from our Cruise line which stopped in Puerto Quetzal and were pleased to discover a quaint and yet vibrant town with plenty of opportunities for photography. People watching was at its best near the Arco de Santa Catalina, dogs, kids, lovers, street peddlers, it was great! The ruins of the old Basilica were also of interest. Other than this, not much to do here, but the trip was still worth it: it took us away from the ship and the port.

If you are thinking of visiting Antigua, the Arco is prominently displayed in anything "Antigua" so once you get there you will know where to go. It is located in the heart of the old town Antigua and in the middle of the pedestrian street. It reminds me of "China Town" arc(gate) because you will know that you are at the heart of the city. I spent a few days in Antigua and took quite a few pictures with the Arc. Get there early morning you can get the Arc with empty street. Get there in the afternoon, you will get the pictures with tourists and souvenir sellers, and get there at night you will see vibrant life of Antigua. You do not need to make a point of going there because you will be at it.
