Every wednesday night, when I can, I go to AGO to enjoy beauty. AGO offers works of almost all of the great painter and they have free admission to their collection galleries every Wednesday from 6-8:30pm.

I live across the street from the AGO and visit often. I take my son to the children's play area downstairs where he can explore art, play with puppets and other toys.It is a beautiful building and has very friendly staff.

I went here with two of my friends for the First Thursday event in March. I added on the Basquiat exhibit and I was not disappointed! We ate at the restaurant "Frank" inside the AGO first which was lovely (check out my review) and then headed over to the museum part. Doors opened at 7pm I believe and the Basquiat exhibit was open for a few hours. We walked past a DJ on our way upstairs. I have been looking forward to this exhibit for quite some time and I was not disappointed. It was a little more crowded than I would have liked and really hot in the room but other than that I really enjoyed myself. It took me about 1.5 hours to get through (I did not download the free app beforehand that would play the audio for you and I wish I had!).They had a lot of great interactive stations set up (grafetti chalk board, button making etc). There were app stations and drinks available for purchase and the music was pumping. We decided to leave around 10ish I think but it seemed like the party was just getting started! (it was a pretty young crowd). All in all, I had a great time and for less than $25 it was worth it. As a side note, the AGO is easily reachable via the street car or the subway. I would definitely return (in fact I just bought a yearly membership!)

We really enjoyed our visit to the AGO -- very easy to find and lots of wonderful art to see! Highly recommend!

We visited on a Saturday afternnon. It was a last minute visit so we stood in line for tickets. The line moved well. There is so much to see. We payed more to see the featured exhibit. It was well worth the money. The museum is a great way to spend the afternnon.

A sold collection of Canadian, Inuit, and Henry Moore art. They constantly have interesting new exhibits that bring the world of art to a Toronto. I am sure that I am missing comments about their international art collection. They have a lovely compliment of art from around the world

The deep pockets informing the taste of this institution married to creativity and technical finesse make a positive impression.

I only had a couple hours but I got to the Basquiat and Spiegelman exhibits, and the Europian and Thomson Collections. Basquiat isn't quite my thing (I'm 55 and not really into street art) still it was worth seeing, Spiegelman, comic book art, I really enjoyed. Both the collections were just great, really enjoyed seeing all the European sculptures and paintings. Have to go back next time I'm in Toronto.

My wife and I have been family members at the AGO for two years now. It has more than paid for itself. The AGO have a tradition of bringing in very interesting special exhibits and members get advance views and included admission. Examples of special exhibits we have been able to enjoy are: Michelangelo, Colville, Italian Futurists. In addition to the special exhibits are the works in the AGO collection. They have an impressive European Renaissance collection and a substantial collection of works by the Group Of Seven (impressive painting all but especially those by Lauren Harris). The architecture is also quite impressive and the gift shop is worth a look.
